APA Hotel Keikyu Kamata Ekimae Nishi

Friendly front desk staff. Free upgrade to double room. Rooms are small but come with almost everything that make our stay comfortable. Shower was strong and warm water was available as soon as you turned it on. Value for money. Near to train station.

A little dusty at some areas. WiFi signal cut off a few times.

This APA hotel is located truly 3 minutes from the Keikyu Kamata station and about 7 minutes away from JR Kamata station. Really easy to get to either train station depending upon your destination. All sort of restaurants you can choose from and grocery stores if you decide to buy some snacks and bento type meals are near by. I had a room that faced to the north and didn’t like it so I asked for another room in the following day and they were willing to give me another room! The mattress was very comfortable. Show worked great!

We all know all rooms are rather small in Japan. My room charges included breakfast. But I only ate there once out of 5 days I stayed. I founded the food items not appealing, in my opinion. I could see that they try to meet the needs of different tastes but I would rather have less variety but higher qualifier of food. I will pick up breakfast from nearby convenient stores if I stay at this location ruin in the future.

Everything about the hotel was good. The room was small but well designed. The location to the trains were very good as well as the shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

- Location was PERFECT. That’s pretty much the only good thing. - Room was fine on space. - Bed was okay, pillows were uncomfortable.

- This is more of a Booking issue but you’ll need to be very careful you put the hotel name. When we clicked the address from the Booking app, we were directed to the OTHER Ai Hotel Keikyu Kamata (not Ekimae). They have posters in front of each hotel so this is obviously a common issue. It was hot and unfortunate that we walked all the way over to the wrong one with lots of luggage. - We encountered only one friendly staff member during our stay. The first woman who greeted us when we dropped off our bags before check-in. Everyone else was very rude and sometimes condescending. - Shower felt even more cramped than usual Japanese hotels and the shampoo, conditioner, AND body wash were mostly water?! It was awful. So cheap. - A.C. was awful and couldn’t combat summer heat one bit. Especially if your room faces the sun most of the day. And since you have to have a card in the slot, we walked in to a sweltering room after check-in. - Then a frustrating encounter with a staff member the morning of check-out. The hotel keys are incredibly thin and fragile, much more-so than we were used to, and it snapped as I grabbed my suitcase on our way downstairs. I explained what had happened to the staff member and he said it was no trouble and they’d take care of it. Then suddenly 2 minutes later he said we needed to pay 3000 yen to replace it. We were shocked and confused. I wish you had been more upfront about the issue and understanding. I wonder how much money they make from that and their cheap cards.
