Olive House in Damouchari with a sea view - Delicious Houses

Well, the top balcony surely had the best view in Damouchari - Overlooking the harbour, castle hill and the beach behind it. Absolutely beautiful. The lower balcony was not such an amazing view, being at tree-top level, but both were 100 per cent private and just great for relaxing. The rest of the house was fine for the two of us - clean and reasonably well equipped - the washing machine was a nice bonus. Damouchari itself is a delightful village, with about half a dozen tavernas/bars, including a couple by the harbour and also by the beach. quite remote, but the road to it is OK for a standard vehicle.

The parking area is shared between 4 villas, and would be pretty tight for 4 vehicles. Luckily out neighbours were a group of very friendly people from poland, and they parked two of their vehicles in the public parking nearby, so we could park more easily - thank you guys! There are two paths down to the village, both a bit on the steep side. the main route from the public parking is down a cobbled path which is not too easy to navigate, down or up, so we preferred to turn right as you exit the property, which takes you down a tarmac road which is much easier. It's also a pretty steep coming back, but doable if you are in reasonable health. The steep bit is, thankfully, short.

The property consists of multiple units. We had a unit on two floors facing the sea directly, which was beautiful, and our review is based on this unit. The view of the coastline and olive orchards was intoxicating. We could hear the sea waves crash on the pebbles. We had two balconies and air conditioning was on both floors.

The kitchen needs some additional utensils. The fake flowers should go. The towels looked old, they could be replaced.

Great location and great place -- close access to the beach and trails, Beautiful views of the sea. Well-equipped house with all amenities. Host was very responsive. We were off season (end of February) so it was very quiet and pleasant.

All was great.

Host was flexible with allowing us to stay an extra night. Great location; easy access to everything. Air con was good. Well equipped kitchen though we didn't use it. Parking was available if needed. Lovely balcony view. Room had good shutters which allowed it to be a dark night's sleep if wanted. Spacious room

We weren't given the correct code to get into the property which made checking in a little slower than we had hoped. It was sorted quickly but did involve us calling the host etc. The downstairs shower had dead flies in the basin.There were also ants all over the kitchen surfaces when we arrived. I'm sure the apartment had been cleaned and it was just unfortunate but these things all combined made for a slightly bad first impression. Both showers did not have a working overhead shower head attachment to the wall meaning you had to hold the shower all the time. There was only a flimsy shower curtain for a relatively small shower which was quite difficult to use with the one handed shower. Finally the bed was extremely hard; I appreciate people like different mattress types and I'm not usually at all fussy on this front but the bed was extremely solid! However if these very minor things were sorted then I think it would be a great stay.
