This is a very quiet and safe area to stay. Provisions such as serviettes, paper towel, cleaning products, laundry detergent, beach towels, and quality bathroom products were generous and very much appreciated - thank you. Darla is very friendly, communicates well and is readily available . The building is quite separate and private from the main house, very pretty, clean and tastefully appointed. As summer is warm, we enjoyed using the outside table setting under a beautiful tree. The front fence ensures total privacy. Whilst it is described as a house (probably because it is quite separate from the owners home), with exception of the bathroom, it really is a one room studio. Thank you Darla for making us feel very welcome.

The pull down bed from the wall that covers the couch came as a surprise - we were informed about this close to our stay. We do have a couple of suggestions. It would be helpful to have an information folder / compedium for a reference to use of equipment, and local knowledge. Maybe consider provision of a small barbeque, and label the entry gate as 'The Carriage House'. No real criticisms.

Unfortunately the owner’s home, which is right beside the unit, was being renovated. Construction noise started at 8 am and went until 4 pm during our whole stay. Luckily the weather was good so we were out all day otherwise this would have been a big problem. We were given the offer of an extra night by the owner when we booked and were told it was because we were returning guests and there was no booking pre or post us. Having an extra night did not really make up for the construction inconvenience we experienced.

We should have been informed about the construction by the owner so we could have cancelled and booked elsewhere. I felt it was a bit sneaky on his part not to have been upfront with us.

According to the owner “It’s also a weekend and a lot of usage on Shaw often makes for a slower go.”... So prepare to burn your cell phone data quota.
