Perfect location with the best views in Altea :)

The location and the view from the top terrace must be the best in Altea. The house is right in the centre of the old town but when you are there it’s a real haven. The bathrooms were amazing, all marble and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t have time to use the pool but I’m sure it would be lovely, especially in the heat of summer. Roser was a great host and communication was good and easy. We would love to stay again at some point!

Lovely views but insufficient seating or outside space for the number of bedrooms.

The location is excellent for central Altea. The view from the balcony bedroom (up about 4 flights of stairs with seating for 4 people is perfect and the owner supplied a lovely spread for breakfast. Also there was shower wash and soap in the showers.

There was no outside table which would seat more than 3 (and the Villa was booked for 9). There were no sunbeds and no room round the pool to put them. There was no sun on the pool and no seating in the sun at anytime of the day. There was a single bedroom but it was away from the other bedrooms. was tiny, virtually windowless and the bed suitable only for a very short person. The lounge was dark and there was a permanently unlocked door leading to the owners shop (although it was behind a clothes rail. In the lounge you could hear people chatting in the shop.

Wonderful location.

Great location in the heart of old Altea on the top of the hill. Stunning views all round of the town, sea and mountains. Plenty of room in the house and a really nice little heated pool in the back courtyard. A great many places to eat and with a lovely atmosphere.

Perfect location close to the Square. For once reality more than met expectation based on the pictures. It was very good value for money and we will return

A truly memorable destination, worth the trip to Altea itself.

Wow - it's hard to know where to start. We agree with all the reviews that the house itself, the location, the pool, and the views are all excellent – top-notch really. But as great as the reviews are, and ours will be, they don't really convey what it's like to stay in this house. The pictures you see of the church, the sea, and the town from the top floor terrace are wonderful and accurate. But they can’t convey what it’s like to wake up seeing that sea at the foot of the bed (if you’re the lucky one to get that bed!) or to have a drink in the evening with the lights on the church. It’s magical. We attended a wedding in Altea and the bride and groom and a few others found their way to that terrace after their wedding to toast their celebration in that wonderful spot. The location truly couldn’t be better if you want to enjoy the historic old town on the hill with all the shops and restaurants and bars. It’s a relatively short but steep walk down to the beach and back, and the life along the pebbly beach is fun, but for us the hilltop was the draw. If you decide to stay there, it’s worth exploring the history of both Antonio Gades and Marisol to get a sense of what this house has witnessed in its past. And don’t be surprised to look down at the street and see a tour group standing there admiring the house while their guide tells its stories. Roser was a wonderfully attentive hostess, and clearly very proud of her historic home and we thank her for her attention and assistance. If we ever get back to Altea, we would be hugely disappointed to stay anywhere other than Casa Gades Marisol.

There really wasn't anything we didn't like. But a word of advice to pay attention to Roser's directions to the house. GPS will take you to 16 Carrer San Miguel, the historic entrance to the home which is now a shop. But you enter and leave from the pool level at the corner of Carrer Sant Pau and Carrer Fornet.

The views from the roof terrace were amazing. We loved our pre-dinner drinks up there. Lots of space for a large family, great sized bedrooms, large bathrooms. Amazing location in one of the old towns best streets, but was really quiet to sleep. Most of all we loved the pool. The beach is pebbles in Altea, so the pool was such a great asset. Roser was a great host, very helpful and lovely to deal with.

We loved everything. couldn’t really fault it. maybe extra toilet paper and an ash tray. Tiny things really.
