Nice to get away for a weekend, good potential, but poor housecleaning.

The hot tub was nice and I liked the independent check-in.

The cabin was not cleaned from the last guest that stayed. Dirty towels were left and dirty sheets were piled on the bed. We got in at 8:30 and had to wait over an hour to receive fresh sheets. When we got the sheets, the cleaner did not take the dirty towels or sheets and the comforter she gave us was still wet. Property gave us a 50% refund. Also, there’s not enough room to cook. There’s barely any counter space and there’s a lot of empty space where a small table could go.

Check in was very easy, views were beautiful

The hot tub wasn't warm enough to get in and it had things floating in it, the couch was not very comfortable, for being pet friendly there was not much place to walk your pet to use the bathroom. The hot water ran out very fast with only 2 people showering.

Lovely weekend getaway

The cabin was clean and welcoming. Only a few things that weren't perfect. The hottub controls were squriting out the knobs when turned on, so we just didn't use thoes jets. The shower door wouldn't stay closed and there is nowhere to put your toiletries while showering, but besides thoes few annoyances the weekend was perfect, cant wait to come back.

Nice effort & surroundings - add details

Secluded Hocking Hills Forest . Actually 3 nights - 1st cabin was toasty & what we expected with full kitchen, hot tub & separate bedroom. EXTREME weather - Winter Storm Fern with 12” snow and frigid temperature. They kept roads plowed clear & passable. Worked with us to add a day up front to beat storm. Roku TV, WiFi, & Hot Tub was soooooo nice - warm & clean!!!

1st good cabin Willow gas fireplace not working. 2nd cabin Aisle Green Have to qualify EXTREME cold & was cold entire visit. Really needed extra blankets or thro for winter. Had to cook off a hot plate, made do (maybe they detailed on breakout???). Mouse problem (sometimes can’t be avoided in remote cabins) & had to disinfect everything. Quick change over; but garbage left, no paper towels & only 1 roll of toilet paper. Coffee maker but NO filters :(. Only 2 towels with hot tub?? Details matter - no floor mat or tub mat, was worried about water on floor. Few dishes & glasses - 1st cabin had a wine opener, 2nd did not :(

We wanted to get away into nature and have some peace and quiet. And that is exactly what we got.

We loved The Buckeye Hut. Loved the decor,the wood bed, table, chairs and coat rack. Hot tub was great.

The couch wasn’t very comfortable and hard to get out of and the direct tv wasn’t working.

Nice cabin but poor facilities

The area was nice. Although close to other cabins, it was made as private as possible. The cabin looked fairly new and had a good layout.

There were a few very basic things missing, the worst one being no hot water in the bathroom. We couldn’t take a shower. I texted one of the owners but got no response. Also, we were there on Christmas Day so we wanted to make a nice meal. There was no stove or real oven. The “stove” was a two burner hotplate that didn’t work properly. There was a large toaster oven on top of the refrigerator. Cooking was difficult and felt unsafe.

There was a white board about who cleaned the cabin before we got there about what was cleaned and who checked and cleaned what - the only answer that was checked was who checked the hot tub but nothing was else was marked.

Shower door wouldn’t close Bed was not comfortable. Pillows were terrible. One flat, the other lumpy. No mattress pad cover. Light quilt wasn’t warm at all. Sofa was stained. Hot tub was cloudy.

Bed and couch were uncomfortable, couch old and dirty, few and very dim lights. Difficult to get hot water in shower, shower door would not stay closed, water flooded the bathroom floor. Fireplace out of order, no DVD player as advertised, couldn't cook anything because stove smoked when burner turned on.

It was ok for a three day stay

I loved the fireplace and the bed was comfortable. I really liked the one room concept with the fireplace splitting the living room from the bedroom

The hot water heater kept shutting off and even when there was hot water (my husband had to fix it) there was no water pressure. The hot and cold water was backwards so to get hot water the faucet had to be practically shut off. This was not a relaxing hot shower at all and don’t bother trying to take a hot bath it would take hours to fill the tub

The deck was nice.

The parking was lacking. Only had one car but had no pad to park on like some of the other cabins. The amenities were lacking. No paper towels, silverware was minimal, the silverware tray was dirty so I washed it as well as the silverware before daring to use.

Decided to make the best of it….

It was quiet. Bed was good. Porch was good.

QR codes all over. Did them. None applied to what we were looking at. Didn’t get the cabin they told us….friend that recommended advised for to move to whippoorwill…they said they moved us but didn’t. No free Netflix until the next afternoon…not sure why. The fireplace was broke. The hot tub didn’t have lift cover. The sofa was broken down loveseat. The setting….after going through something of the “Deliverence” movie…was quiet and as told. Was told to use hot tub had to pull off cover and lean against the rail or wall. We are older, but in pretty good shape…so did one night of our 3 night stay. It was an effort. You get what you pay for…we brought food knowing it was remote…high in the hills. It was quiet. City folk, not used to very rural would not stay here….usually.

Quiet, clean rooms in a very secluded area.

We liked the secluded area. It was very quiet and the deer showing up every morning was cool. The hot tub on the back deck was relaxing and the place was pretty clean and updated. The kitchen was nice and fully stocked with cups, plates, and utensils as needed. They had a fridge, microwave, and toaster. We brought our own coffee maker.

There were NO screens on any of the windows. We would have liked to have some windows open for a fresh air breeze, but this was a total no-go because there was not 1 screen on the windows. We also thought the drive in was a little sketchy having to pass by a JUNK yard and bumpy road wasn't very inviting, but once you got through it, it was ok. Lastly, if you are there when it rains expect a very loud ambience due to the metal roof & occasional falling walnuts!

Overall we were satisfied with our stay and enjoyed the best parts of it.

Semi private, hottub on deck, woodsy location was convenient to everywhere we went. We had a pretty clean shower and bathroom with plenty of towels and washcloths. Deck was great to go sit on to eat, hang out, drink coffee. It was very relaxing to hang out at cabin.

Mattress wasn’t comfortable for us. Floors were swept but not scrubbed. Loveseat was very nasty dirty and stained. Silverware drawer was dirty. I had to wash all the silverware and holder before we could use. Someone had spilled something in it and not cleaned it up. Salt and pepper shakers were very nasty and old couldn’t use them. The pan in convection oven was dirty we had to clean it before using.

Best cabin rental in the Hocking area for the price

Great prices , secluded but close enough to drive to Walmart for any needed groceries and tons to do in the area. Tom the 1st employee we met deserves a raise , he was super friendly and greeted us when we pulled in. We weren't supposed to check in until 4pm and I told him we were jist checking the property out . He made it a point to ha e the cabin cleaned right away and told us we can come in early. We were tired from the long drive and wanted to relax . We appreciate our stay it was perfect!!

The area was quite and the cabin decor was very cute inside

We were left with a couple squares of toilet paper so we had to go out and buy some. The electric burner was covered in rust. I didn’t get a text response about firewood until hours later so we had went out and already bought our own. It appeared on the website and previous messages from the property that checkout was 11:00 but then the night before I received a text saying checkout is at 10:00 and it’s an extra charge to stay til 11:00.

Anniversary weekend success

Cozy cabin, fun fireplace and hot tub. The bed was more comfy than im used to when staying somewhere away from home. Staff was friendly and asked a few times if there was anything we needed. Perfect place for a couple to get a much needed relaxing weekend. And not far from all tje fun things around the area.

It smelled terribly of smoke. I am allergic to smoke. And we were traveling with an immunocompromised child. We left and didn’t stay the night. We came home. The couch throws were totally disgusting

Wonderful relaxing stay! Cabin, view, and hot tub were great. Nice and quiet area! Communication with host was easy and quick to respond. Very easy to check-in/check-out.

Cell service/Wi-Fi can be spotty- when step outside was able to get cell service. I was unaware that was not the most motorcycle friendly (entrance in and out), when turn off main road it turns into a gravel/stone chip road/trail then when you turn onto driveway/entrance it is large gravel limestone with a switchback curve (depending what cabin you are in as it Y's off).

Awesome place to stay!!

Beautiful and private. Staff was great it was a last minute getaway and I called a bunch with a bunch of questions lol poor Brittany probably thought I was crazy 🤣. She was so nice and patient with me. Tommy the maintenance guy was very nice and helpful. Will be going back in the future. Next time I won't have to bug her so much lol

My husband didn't like that there wasn't a TV in the room but it wasn't a big deal we were there to relax anyway.
