Villa Adriatica

The location just outside the main gate to the city overlooking the harbour could not be better. The staff were very happy to help with any item, including arranging custom tours for our group, very friendly.

Not ideal for cooking and food preparation, if the weather did turn bad there was no real public space inside the property as the lounge only had one seat and was more museum than relaxing space. However this was minor and only added to the idiosyncratic charm of the villa.

Host was very kind to check us in at 10am, and we were blown away by how beautiful the view from the enormous terrace was - you look on the marina and the old town and can watch people streaming over Ploce Gate... hear the bells and see the sunrise and sunsets. Sitting out on that terrace is really something special and unforgettable and made our trip. We were all very happy to have our own bathrooms and A/C units, as well as mini fridges. When we needed more towels the host quickly brought them and was very responsive whenever we had a question. He also allowed us to check out an hour later which was very appreciated! There are swimming stairs next to the apartment and you are above the grocery store, bakery, across from a foccacia sandwhich stop (called Yes Yes, it's very good) as well as a few mins walk from Kawa which had the best coffee. Couldn't imagine a better location for Dubrovnik, made our stay so relaxed as everyone could just bop around when and where they needed to. I will miss this terrace always!

Some more attention to detail and a bit of cleanliness was needed – there was black mold in the bathroom of the blue room facing the terrace and our shower drain was very slow. It was difficult to use the kitchen facilities (only 1 circular cutting board about 6 inches across, blunt knives, stovetops barely functioned anymore, plus we had some issues of the fruit we left out in the fruitbowl being bitten up by rodents or bats... not sure which). Best to keep everything in the fridge. Overall the apartment has so much potential, probably the best location I've ever stayed at, but just needs some love and care and a bit of updating - a deep clean in the bathrooms and kitchen and some new pillows for example, and the double beds in the two master rooms are shoved together single beds with wooden edges, which the couples in our group didn't love!

Great location, close to old town. There with 4 other colleagues for work. Teo our host was excellent and helped us with a day trip to Mostar. Great journey and helped us choose other great spots along the way (Kravice waterfalls) and recommended a great restaurant at Blagaj- spring river Buna on the way back.
