Shore Beach Houses - 52 - 402 Porter Avenue

We paid $1,100 for 3 nights in August. For that price I expected the typical seaside motel type apartment and that is what it was. If you want fancy and new this is not the place for you! If you want to be able to track sand in the apartment without worrying then this is great. I loved it. Furnishing and appliances were older, counter tops basic, couches all with covers on them and all 3 couches in the living room were pull out beds! The bathroom was small but fine. They give you linens and towels but that's it. No utensils at all, no plates, bowls pans, dish soap, no brooms, paper towels, no trash bags. Whatever you need you must bring from home. Not a problem for us. I wanted to sweep and asked at the motel's office and they gave me one to use. Staff was always friendly. Access to 2 pools one at the apartment and one at the motel that is connected to the property. The pool was clean and had lounge chairs. Parking for one vehicle. For the price it was perfect. Think of a motel but in apartment form. We had 7 people and there was plenty of room for everyone. TV had cable. Air conditioners in every bedroom and living room. It was very comfortable even with it being 90° outside. Very basic but that's what we like when visiting the shore. No worrying about kids having to tip toe around. This is the kind of place your kids can run around and jump on the couches and beds. And not worry about breaking or ruining anything. I enjoyed the space! Oh! They let me borrow a coffee pot and pans! All in all I loved it. Perfect for what we needed with 7 of us! We had family meet us there one night before we all went to dinner and boardwalk. There were 14 of us hanging out in the apartment for about an hour or two and no one bothered us. You can seat 12 people in the living room! I'll definitely be back and yes! I recommend this apartment if you are on a budget and want a 3 minute walk to the boardwalk and beach! How can you beat that!?!?

I didn't realize there wasn't anything in the kitchen. I would have brought stuff from home.I wish it stated that in the booking. Instead we had to go to Acme and buy coffee filters, forks, knives, spoons, plates, bowls etc. There were tiny ants in the kitchen every morning. We put all our things in zip locs. They didn't pick up the garbage each day, we put it outside the door on the deck and that's where it was the entire stay. We had lots, probably 5 bags!
