The property smelt very strongly of damp and no heating.

Very satisfied with this characterful country cottage.

The cottage had lots of character and excellent linen and towels. The garden was very large and full of birds and rabbits. There was plenty of space for a large group of people with two reception rooms and a well stocked kitchen. There was an excellent library of books to choose from. There were umbrellas provided in the hall.

A bottle of kitchen cleaner would always be useful and it would have been nice to have hair and body wash provided plus a complimentary bottle of milk. Some venues do provide this. Also there was no mention of a hair dryer but I checked beforehand and brought my own.

Short family break.

Very peaceful, quirky! Off road parking good for 2 cars Instructions re area very useful. Good amount games and DVDs available for use. Adequate seating for us all, (5 adults)

Would have appreciated the lawn mown prior to arrival. Maintenance on garden furniture would be beneficial. Parasol and garden furniture cushions would have been good as weather was lovely., not aware that any were available, didn’t find any. Also needs additional large pint type glasses and a set of oven gloves!

Could have been lovely but the place is let down by poor cleaning standards

It’s an old cottage with plenty of character. It could be a fairy tale if it had a little TLC.

It wasn’t clean. So much dust and cobwebs everywhere. Sofas were rather dirty and covered up with blankets (don’t know if they were clean). The place was cold and the heating was controlled by the owner. We asked for the radiators to be turned on and it wasn’t done until about 6 hours later. It’s also a shame to be confronted with mouse poison boxes everywhere you look.

It was idyllic. Even in February!

A wonderful situation in rural Suffolk but only 15 minutes from Woodbridge. Fantastic views, clear starry skies by night and perfect peace. It’s a house that feels like a home not a hotel and carries centuries of history. Lots of books, comfy beds.

Lovely, character property for a family holiday with dogs.

The Management Company were very helpful and responded to our requests for assistance courteously and promptly. They arranged for maintenance support to come to the cottage on the day after our arrival. I cannot fault the responsiveness of the Management Company. Top marks!

There were minor difficulties on arrival. A number of bulbs (more than half a dozen) around the cottage needed replacing including the hallway which is safety issue when your arrival time is 4pm and it's already dark. I don't think previous guests had been advising the management company of these issues! There was also a problem with the central heating upstairs but portable heaters had been left in the hallway for our use. We had use of an electric cooker but only one of the two ovens working. Cracked glass items left in the cupboards from previous visitors - again, I assume unreported. Not the smooth start to our break that we had hoped.

The cottage was lovely , lots of space, clean, nice big garden.

The heaters did not work and the cottage was cold until we got some logs and lit the fires. Toilet leaked in upstairs bathroom floor was wet.

Quirky, beautiful views and comfy beds.

The house is very quirky - two staircases, loads of space beautiful gardens, fabulous views, comfy beds and lovely bed linen.

We had flown in from Spain on a very early flight (having been awake since 3 am) and telephoned the management company to ask if there was any possibility of us checking in an hour early. I was promised a call back which never came. The house has loads of beams etc and there were loads of cobwebs high up and behind the side board etc but none of this detracted from our stay. There was a minor leak from one of the toilets, a loose tap and don't expect a continually hot shower. It is very temperamental!

Family vacation

I love the house .. it was amazing , the children loved it .. the location was amazing .. when the heating went on .. it was lovley and toasty .

Saturday night being woken up , car alarm going off and a white car speeding off .. to then having the cleaners knock on the door at 9.15 am Sunday.. whilst in the shower . Wanting to come in and clean .. I paid till 10 and I was out by 9.50 .. told her no twice .. but aprently being told no twice and I'll be out by 10 .. isn't enough for said cleaner... then sitting on the drive until we left, made us feel rushed to get out ...

Lovely location, but too many rules and regulations - you could tell it was run by a managing agent.

Beautiful location, and plenty of room for us all to stay. The kitchen was very well equipped.

The property was very cold upstairs, and it was difficult to get a reply from the managing agent with a couple of queries we had regarding the heating arrangements before we travelled. One of the beds was extremely uncomfortable, and the property was pretty grubby despite the fact that a cleaning levy of over £120 was charged. Even though we paid this, we still had to strip the beds & empty the bins!

A big cottage with lovely garden, away from it all!

The cottage was very rural which we liked. It was pretty big. Plenty big enough for 5 adults that were in our party. The garden was lovely. Plenty of parking right on the drive. The cottage had good facilities in the kitchen,everything you could need.

I realise that we went in November, but I did find the bedrooms very cold at night and first thing in the morning. There was a fan heater but only one for 3 bedrooms! I also did not like the Aga but that is personnel preference, maybe more instructions could have been given. I also thought that the kitchen could have been cleaner than it was. The dishwasher had run out of salt when we were there so all the crockery had a limescale film on it. I did get some salt and fill it up! Quite a bit of dog hair on the floor too. But it didn't affect our stay.

Brilliant location for exploring Suffolk but cottage needs an uplift.

The location was excellent-for exploring and local walks.

Lack of Communication before arrival- we could have had earlier access as requested, as property was vacated the day before. 5 pm is a very late check in. Lack of curtains downstairs, kitchen floor strained and in poor condition, lack of pans that went together, melamine plates, lack of heater to give a quick blast on cool evenings. This was such a shame as the cottage had such brilliant potential.
