A great place to stay when in Bergamo

The apartment is small but well-furnished and has everything one might need for a short holiday. Its right at the end of the main promenade in lower town, with lots of restaurants and bars + a grocery store just 100-200m away, and at the same time it’s very quiet as in overlooks an inner courtyard. This is one of the few available apartments in Bergamo with a balcony which we always prefer as we smoke. There is even a limited view at Citta alta over the rooftops. Sandro is a great host, responds fast and was very helpful.

It is great apartment in perfect location

I enjoyed my stay overall — the apartment was clean, well-decorated, and matched the photos. It had character, a thoughtful interior, and the location was perfect. Wifi worked well, communication with property seemed easy. However, one aspect really surprised and frustrated me. The late evening before check-out, I received a message stating that, as a rule of staying in the apartment, guests must throw away their trash themselves — sorted into different bags, with a map of where to dispose it. While I understand the importance of recycling and respect for cleaning staff, this kind of request is unreasonable when you're paying to stay in a property listed on Booking. Especially when you're rushing to catch an early flight. It felt inappropriate to place that responsibility on guests at the very end of their stay — particularly without any clear upfront communication during booking. This rule is also not mentioned in the house rules on the Booking website. This should either be optional or clearly stated in the apartment listing before booking — not as a surprise message the evening before check-out. Hotels and most rentals include waste disposal as part of their service — and I expect the same when paying for accommodation. Then, after I checked out, I received another message from the property saying that they "don’t usually apply penalties" but that it’s something they care about "out of respect for cleaning staff." That phrasing felt passive-aggressive — essentially a veiled threat of fines for not doing something that should fall under their responsibility. If you don’t want to penalize guests, don’t imply it. And if it’s that important, it should be part of the listing — not a last-minute pressure message when it’s too late to prepare. A lovely apartment, but this policy and the way it was communicated really left a bad final impression.

Would stay one more time

Everything was great, close to main attractions, quiet (except for the church bells that wake you at 7:30 😄). Good communication with owners

Wasn’t a big problem, but had to take out the trash. Personally we would like more kitchen facilities, like glasses for wine, but the pots were new, had salt and some spices, so you cannot expect everything.

great location, amazing hosts! The bed was big and there was a balcony which was amazing :) Good restaurants nearby. The apartment is on a street that is usually quite loud, however once you enter the building you can’t hear that at all! Church bells wake you up at 7 AM everyday so you don’t have to turn on your alarm to be up and sightsee! :D

There were some issues with the power, not every light could be turned on, the water took a long time to heat in the shower and sometimes was randomly hot. The water heater was also quite loud which may be an issue if someone is a light sleeper. For me all of that was just one small disadvantage in all the advantages the place has.

what we needed

The little place is cozy and great for a short stay. You will need to climb the stairs but the owner was super helpful and carried one bag for us. the location is great -super close to everything -the bus to the airport, the tram to go to città alta and the train station. You can make coffee. There bathroom has been refurbished and the shower is super comfy. The bed was wide and the linen smelled of freshness. If you get cold, there are extra blankets in the wardrobe. The only thing I overlooked was the possibility to leave the bags if you have to check out and want to explore. There is a place at the train station that charges 5 euro per bag. It is secure, but you have an extra cost. The 7 euro bus ticket from the airport that is valid for 24h is a good option to then return to the airport and use public transport within the city. We enjoyed our stay. There was everything that was needed. One thing for you to check is the check out time, in one place on booking it said 10.30 then it said 10.00 so check with the owner.

It was mentioned that there was complimentary water but there wasn’t. No problem as there is Carefour 2 mins away.

Nice apartment in an excellent location. It's located in the city center, there are a few great cafes for breakfast. It also has a nice sunny balcony which should be good for having breakfast. We arrived late, so the self-check-in process was very smooth, thanks to the great instruction from the host. We needed a simple apartment for staying for one night and this option completely satisfied us.

The cooler for ventilation in the bathroom was quite noisy, but we unplugged it from the socket for a while, so it was a minor issue for us.

Location absolutely amazing. When your go out from building you find yourself at the main street with all restaurants, bakery, bars. But inside appartment it absolutely quit. Apartment very cozy and big. All needed is inside: towels, bath facilities, tea, coffee, water. Cute balcony. Highly recommended!

A sweet apartment to spend a night before an early flight. However certainly not the place for more than 1 night stay.

No blinds on the windows, pretty light at night. The heating system was very noisy throughout the whole night. Overall we didn’t enjoy good sleep. Towers were worn out.

I really liked the location of the house as well as of the flat in the house. The last floor appartement is an ideal place for a romantic stay. Easy communication with owners.

Very comfortable apartment a short walk from Bergamo train station -lovely area -lots of cafes etc around -easy to walk to old town very good communication with host, friendly and helpful balcony was a bonus and although there is no elevator unless you have large luggage, all very doable a very pleasant stay

shower door didn't close completely -might have been me- and was on the small size, but bathroom was very well appointed and amenities were good, even included a first aid kit!

Studio loft apartment in town centre

Nice apartment with balcony but no view. In lovely old building, in very central location. Easy to get to train station and Citta Alta. Shopping street and good restaurants very close by. Hosts were very good and very welcoming. Communication was excellent. Bathroom is spacious but shower is small - recommend adding a shelf or something for toiletries

It is at the top of the building up 3 or 4 flights of stairs with no lift. Fine for me but you might want to consider if you've restricted mobility. It is really a studio apartment. Kitchen is a little cramped under the eaves but fully stocked with cooking and eating utensils.

Superb

Lovely studio apartment in a great location. Owner was there to meet us with the key as arranged. Room was sunny and had a nice little balcony which was good to relax on with an Italian Rosso!!! Apartment was adjacent to pleasant restaurants, cafes and shops of all kinds. Easy walk to the station for taking trips to Milan, Lake Como and and Brescia. Owner helped with taking our luggage to and from the room. A lovely quiet area where the locals are friendly and helpful. Apartment was very secure and well equipped.

The 62 steps helped us keep fit but we were relieved to be assisted with our luggage!! Not suitable for people with mobility problems. Otherwise perfect!!!

Very good location and in general a nice apartment with everything you need. The host is very accommodating, he made sure my stay is going great and even helped me to carry my luggage to the bus stop after the check-out (which I had a lot haha)

Very nice owner, the flat was very well equipped and perfectly located.

Typical italian breakfast(only bagels and sweets). The flat could have been a little warmer(the radiator was not working and the temperature was 7 in the night). There was no additional coverlet for such cases in the equipment.
