Staff very helpful nice and clean
Just as you leave the car park there is a huge hole in the road not good for small cars but I think that's the weather and poor management of the council

The room was warm, comfy and cosy, perfect for what I wanted, I was travelling back from work with a car on its last legs so I needed a pit stop overnight. The en suite shower and bathroom was a godsend aswell, I left there feeling refreshed in the morning.

Room was lovely. Very cosy, clean & warm. Staff were excellent. Food was really good, both breakfast and dinner.
Only downside to my stay was the water pressure in the shower.

Very prompt and friendly staff. Convenient parking spot right outside next to the river. The evening meal (lamb cawl) and the Welsh breakfast (with cockles and laverbread) were excellent
The room was very cold on arrival (end of Dec) but the radiator worked quickly and well and we had a good comfortable night sleep. There didn't seems to be any hot water coming out of the sink tap in room 3 and we therefore didn't try the shower

Friendly, nice, helpful staff. Rooms & hotel clean & tidy & stocked with usual room essentials. Not sure about hairdryer as I took my own. Warm & plenty of space in the double.
Breakfast superb & cooked perfectly. Clean & tidy dining area. Pub feel, so cosy but not "modern". Parking a bit tight but free & convenient. Quite a quaint location by the stream.
Little noisy by the road junction & early morning traffic not ideal for many, but double glazing helped.
Curtains could do with being blackout.
Double bed might be a little hard for some.

Friendly, helpful staff. Nothing too much. Not 5 star boutique but room clean & had evetything I needed. No nasty mould or musty smells or marks. Shower & bathroom facilities & toiletries great.
Flannels! So many places don't have them nowadays.
Breakfast & chef, superb! Very accommodating & nothing too much trouble. Everything you wanted & more. Cooked perfectly.
Booked another night! Will be back.

The location was great, lovely street with any shop you may want and the river was gorgeous. Was nice to have comfortable parking. Breakfast was descent too and staff were nice.
I don't like leaving bad reviews, especially considering this was quite a cheap hotel, but you really do get the impression when you stay here that noone cares about the hotel side of the business. Pretty much every part of the room let me down. The shower pressure was incredibly disappointing, barely any water coming out. We also tried to be eco friendly and not request a second set of towels (we stayed 2 nights) but regretted that when we realised the bathroom stays so humid even with the window open that the towels never dry. There was also no closed lid bin provided, which really demonstrates to me the room had not received a womanly touch 😅
The bed was hard as rocks. The walls kept no noise out, could hear every sneeze, dog, car from outside, though the river did its best to drown it out. The blinds were so thin that all night the street lamps were still very visible and kept us up. The room carpet was quite dirty when we arrived, didn't feel like anyone had bothered to hoover. It was a step above camping, but can't say we got any real rest while staying here.

Great value, friendly staff, good shower, tea making facilities and the food is excellent.
Parking can be a challenge but there is a public carpark a few mins up the road.

I had to check out before breakfast times-pity, I marked 8.7 out of 10 only because the TV did not work-I thought because of storm-but the signal was in the bar room as guests were watching TV as I purchased and ate the Scampi and chips, which was exceptionally good, all washed down with a pint of Guinness. Easily found and I had room to park my little Ka.
I knocked points off because the shower was awkward- hot cold, wouldn't function properly. No SKY box signal -mentioned above, and the bed was to hard for ME- but thats me. Rain and muppets on scooters and souped up cars were noisy throughout the night-but site is on a busy crossroads junction.

Great staff, nice pubs, comfortable but basic room. Adequate parking and very close to my destination
Room was a bit tired, but it was warm and comfortable. Chair needed fixing.
Orange juice for breakfast tasted off

Despite its position by traffic lights on a busy junction the bedroom and most of the hotel was surprisingly quiet. The breakfast was large and a great choice was offered by friendly staff. There was a very wide choice for dinner and the food was home made and large portions. I have an awkward diet and the staff were all very helpful. The prices, including a free salad buffet with the main course, were very reasonable. The parking area is small but we managed to get our car in each time with care. The en-suite was small but worked well. We would visit again.
The information said that breakfast was from 9am which was much too late for us but we were told that it opened for residents at 8am - this meant, on our first day, the door was unlocked but nothing was ready for up to 15 mins later which was awkward when going hill-walking with a short day length. Live sport was on 2 screens in the restaurant on the Wednesday night with commentary and with diners talking over it, the room became very noisy which spoiled the excellent food. There are steps to get into the hotel from the car park and then stairs up to the rooms which might be a problem for some.

Breakfast was excellent, as was all of the food on offer. Portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted freshly prepared and full of flavour. The location is ideal, with easy access by car to both Swansea and Llanelli (approximately 20 minutes in either direction).
The Dillwyn is accurately rated as a 3-star establishment, and the pricing reflects this appropriately — it delivers good value for money. Those seeking the charm of a traditional Welsh pub will not be disappointed. The village itself has a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, much like putting on a favourite pair of slippers.
Overall, my stay met all expectations and provided a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The welcome, the room and the food were all very good.
The checking out arrangements on the Sunday were very generous too so no scramble to
depart.
There was only one chair in the double bedroom so had to use the bed as a comfy chair
Also the parking was an interesting challenge as no enough to satisfy demand but that
is nothing the Dillwyn Arms could do anything about

I had booked 2 nights at Dillwyn Arms to attend a music concert in the town. I liked the town and the people were very friendly. The art centre was very nice and worth the visit.
Sadly, our room at the Dillwyn arms was not good. The room and bathroom was unclean. The bathroom had black mould in the grout around the tiles. The cheap plastic shower head did not stay in the upright position, so it was impossible to shower with out holding it in place. There was broken missing tiles and fixings in the bathroom and the cold tap started to go hot while in use.
The mattress was old very lumpy and no support left in it. The bedding was old and un ironed. The pillows were old stained and lumpy.
The window opened but was difficult to close without slamming it and the window blind had seen better days.....and looked as if it would fall off if you touched it.
The room had not been hoover properly with evidence from the previous customer with open biscuit wrappers on the chair. There was a short shelving unit with a pole offering an excuse for an wardrobe. There was no coat hangers. we ask for some, but when we started to hang our clothes the rail just fell to the floor as the brackets were partly broken.
I had paid for 2 nights but sadly after one nights stay we decide to leave. I was so unset by the experience I just wanted to go and find somewhere else to stay. I did not even want to discuss a refund for the one night as I felt it would have been pointless to ask. The visit to the town was meant to be a special occasion, but this room had sadly made me feel uncomfortable and not a space I wanted to stay in longer than I had too. I felt there had been no effort to provide a comfortable welcoming room or any explanations as to all its faults. I have stayed in many hotel and pub rooms over the years and this was by far the worst. I do hope this review will encourage the Dillwyn staff team to address these issues for this room.

There's no lift so there is one and a half flight of stairs. Not very good if walking disability. But you must remember that it is a pub after all.

The hotel was exceptional value for money. The room was tastefully decorated and comfortable with not only towels but also a flannel and toiletries provided. The restaurant served extremely good and plentiful food at a reasonable price. Jamie, who appeared to be running the place almost single handed was fantastic - friendly, efficient and helpful at all times.
To be picky, it appeared that the curtains had been replaced with ones which were not big enough and there were marks on the wall where the paint had come off where presumably something had been removed. There was no mirror, plug or light over the desk/dressing table and the centre light was not very bright. (Room 1, this did not appear to apply to Room 2). Water pressure in the shower was pathetic. Although the details had said there would be a streaming service and there was a Sky box, this only showed Freeview channels. I don't know whether I could have accessed more had I asked as I didnt raise this. None of the above warranted a complaint given the positives.
