Cabañas San gerardo

De locatie is overweldigend mooi, nog mooier dan we hadden verwacht. De host verwelkomde ons en was erg vriendelijk, we kregen een prachtige kamer met geweldig uitzicht (bungalow nummer 5). Achter de receptie heb je een terras met collibries, toekans, eekhoorns en vele soorten vogels met prachtig uitzicht. Wij hebben hier ieder ochtend ons heerlijke ontbijt genuttigd, ook s 'avonds kun je hier ook prima eten.

I was very happy with this choice of accommodation: comfortable bed, good WIFI, hot shower. I was in Cabin 5, which I think has the nicest location, as it is at the back of the property with a view of the trees and the valley. I was travelling without a car. Ana arranged transportation to and from the bus stop on the highway, and transportation to and from the bottom of the valley, so that I could spend the day exploring Sendero Catarata and a trail at Savegre Lodge. Very much appreciated as she and her family also run Miriam's Quetzals...they work hard. She also arranged a tour with Alex. I did both the quetzal tour (saw them) and a paramo tour. The cabins are across the street from Miriam's Quetzals...so lots of opportunities to watch birds. The meals at Miriam's Quetzals are good. For a change of scene, Pizzeria Los Colibris is next door and the restaurant at Las Cataratas Lodge is also good and not too far. I was told by Alex that I could use the trails at Miriam's Cabinas Quetzaly which is owned by the same family. Other lodges will allow use of their trails for a fee.

The furnishings in the cabin take up most of the floor space. It was plenty of space for me ( I stashed by suitcase under the little table) but if there were more of you, staying organized might be more challenging.

Heerlijk schone eigen cabaña met balkon en prachtig uitzicht. En lekker warm mbv de kachel. En een prachtig balkon bij het restaurant van dezelfde eigenaar waar je de mooiste vogels kunt zien en fotograferen. Je kunt daar ook héérlijk eten, zowel ontbijt als avondeten.
