An excellent holiday home in great loction.

A super little house. Very well equipped and cosy. The decoration was tasteful and everything we needed was supplied. Great location near to the High Street but still very quiet.

Our only disappointment was the main bed was a double. Should have checked this out in the advert. We have a king size at home and need the space! 😄

A brilliant wee break! We hope to be back in the summer!

A lovely property in an amazing location. It was quiet, clean and comfortable and the facilities were great. The shower was amazing and the wee added touch of leaving us some food essentials was welcomed.

I'm not sure if I missed it or not on the list of items in the kitchen, but as a coffee drinker (who likes to make a brew at home first thing) it would have been nice to know in advance what coffee making equipment was available.

Nothing, just a couple of maintenance notes, the shower drain needs unblocking and the guttering outside the front door is blocked so the rain drips onto you as you’re entering the property

Perfect holiday home with everything you need for a lovely stay in North Berwick.

Lovely and clean with all the amenities we needed for a short stay. Ideal for walking to the local pubs which are a stone throw away! Added bonus of car parking spot outside the door!

The stairs could be a bit creaky but it wouldn’t put me off coming back!

Really lovely stay offering what we needed - comfort, great location.

The location was brilliant. The house was clean (aside from a few mugs at the back of the cupboard that had coffee stains) I think it could be made even better by bringing in nicer bed linen in both bedrooms (bunk linens didn't match). The toiletries were a lovely addition. THe glassware was gorgeous

The accom advertised having apps like netflix for guests to log in to, but it wasnt there / able to download on the smart tv. My kids spent the week watching my computer screen (when they weren't outside having the time of their lives!). The breakfast bar chairs need oiled!!

Relaxing stay, close to the sea

Great location - close to the beach and amenities of North Berwick. Well equipped with everything you might need, even including fans to cope with the warm weather. There were a few basic groceries provided which were much appreciated.

The bunk bed room was pretty small. Too small for two adults really.

Fabulous premises with lovely extras. Very close to the beach and free parking.

The host kindly left us bread, eggs, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, granola and biscuits. Lovely, and very much appreciated.

The bed was uncomfortable and the feather pillows don’t have any support. Also, it would be good to have a table lamp at the front door and in the living room.

Accomodation had everything we needed & the location is excellent so handy for everything. Nice little welcome basket on arrival.

No complaints. Slight oversight with keybox when we arrived. Booking sent the wrong code & we had to phone the owner but this was sorted very quickly. Other than that very happy with Skippers Retreat.

A delightful short break in a superior property in historic surroundings

The property was very well situated for all facilities in the town. Although not having a sea view, it was only one minute's walk from the beach. It was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and the groceries provided were thoughtfully chosen and much appreciated. Having car parking right at the front door was a real bonus. The guest information book gave a comprehensive and humorous overview of things to do in the area.

A little more detail on practicalities would have been helpful. The information provided in the information handbook indicated, by means of local council leaflets, how to dispose of recyclable waste, but an indication of how, where and when to dispose of landfill waste would have been useful. We worked out by looking in the bin at the side gate that we should use the green bin for landfill, but as different local councils have different colour coding for their various bins, some more specific information would be welcome. Similarly, guidance would have been appreciated on what to do with bedding and towels at the end of our stay in order to meet the requirements of the housekeeper. We liked the good use of space in the breakfast bar arrangement, but felt that climbing on to those particular stools presented something of a challenge to the less fit and youthful.

Great property - would definitely stay again. Easy access and great location. The guest information pack was so helpful, there was definitely a lot of thought put into it. Gorgeous property literally round the corner from the main street, shops and restaurants and 5 minute walk from the beach. It had everything we needed and a generous few essentials waiting for us when we arrived. Very comfortable and cosy. We will definitely be back. Thanks to Ian for checking and making sure we had everything we needed.
