The host was a lovely polite lady who accommodated our late check-in and was always very attentive. She is a lady very in control and very professional.
The heat in France this past week was excessive and the house did not have air conditioning but this is normal in France so nothing that the host could do.

The two nights at Chateau Montcouvent were a wonderful start to our Loire-a-Vélo trip. The partly renovated Chateau offers an authentic atmosphere. Our room was pleasant and spacious and had a beautiful view into the park, where you can see horses and donkeys on the the pasture Comfortable beds. And the dinner is a recommendation! Easy and friendly check-in.

The main building was impressive, and the entry down the tree lined road was nice. Our room in le cottage was private and had a nice garden.
Had to pay in cash which we didn’t expect so had to nip out to an ATM which isn’t that big of a deal, the room was very basic and a bit dated granted it is an old building but inside doesn’t have to be so basic. Breakfast was very basic and a bit disappointing. Breakfast outdoors would have been nice perhaps to add more of atmosphere. In our opinion, our stay here seems a bit overpriced for what it was. Basic but in a nice setting.
