Chalet La Neuf

Our family (my husband, our two children, and I) stayed at Chalet La Neuf for six nights. The chalet is beautifully maintained, well cared for, and tastefully decorated. The views are stunning, the location is very convenient if you’re into hiking, so we had a wonderful time there. There is also a lovely private sauna, and a great fireplace which we enjoyed using during our stay. We genuinely enjoyed our stay at Chalet La Neuf. It was exactly the kind of place we were looking for, provided the relaxing break we needed.

The end-of-stay cleaning fee was quite high though. We paid upfront CHF 295 for a six-night stay. This was not for regular cleaning during our stay, but solely for the final cleaning after departure. Despite this fee, we were still expected to take all rubbish to the recycling centre (about 1 km down the road), remove the bed linen, and complete a few other departure tasks. This wasn't a major issue for us, but the way these obligations were communicated felt somewhat abrupt. For example, the information included fines of CHF 40 for each bin bag left behind. When we asked whether a slightly later check-out might be possible (the check-out time is 9:00 am), we received what appeared to be an AI-generated response simply reiterating the check-out time. As a result, we didn't particularly feel welcomed.
