Romantic Mansion

I wouldn’t say this hotel is perfect, but that is quite typical for this area. What truly makes it special is the staff. They are warm, friendly, and always willing to help. The owner is a wonderful person who creates a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Another great advantage is the location — many attractions are within walking distance. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and felt very comfortable here.

The only thing I didn’t like was the smell of cigarette smoke, which was noticeable at times. Aside from that, I had a very pleasant experience.

Location was good

If your height its 1.85cm , you need to bend down each time you enter a door , or cross a beam into the rooms. Also the personal gave us a a spoiled milk at breakfast. It was wrong they didn't check it .

24 hours reception in this hotel. I really like location, near station and tram . I'd like their breakfast every morning. So cosy, so friendly place. I've been there twice and definitely will come again.

I booked Romantic Mansion because of its high rating (8.8) and great reviews, but unfortunately, this was one of my worst experiences. I honestly don’t understand how this place maintains such a high score. The only two good things about this "hotel" are: 1. The location – it’s in the heart of a transport hub (trams, ferries, buses) and within walking distance of Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Basilica Cistern. 2. Deniz (apologies if I misspelled the name) – she is communicative and very helpful.

The Room (403): It was dreadfully small and difficult to move around in. There was only one tiny window, making the room very dark. While the furniture might have been stylish once, it is now dilapidated and worn out. The curtains and bed cover were visibly dirty, and daily cleaning or fresh linens cannot compensate for the poor overall state of the interior. The Bathroom: A total nightmare. There were water stains on the ceiling, mold in the grout, and the cabinet under the sink was rotting. The shower was a disaster: the height was not adjustable, it was extremely difficult to regulate the water temperature, and the shower head was clogged, so the water didn't flow in even streams. A marble sink does not make up for the lack of hygiene. Furthermore – and this is a serious safety concern – there was no lampshade, just a bare lightbulb in the bathroom! Due to humidity and steam, it flickered. This is completely unacceptable. The "Reception": Just a tiny desk squeezed into a corner by the stairs. The staff spoke very little English and was not particularly welcoming. Breakfast: Although the hotel supposedly has a kitchen, no warm food was served. Every day was exactly the same: baguette, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, some white cheese, yellow cheese, and cold cuts that I didn't dare to try. There were hard-boiled eggs, small hotel jams, some cereals, and cookies. For drinks: instant coffee (no espresso machine), tea, and some diluted juice (cherry and orange-mango?). The place-mats on the tables were dirty and looked like they had never been changed. The area where breakfast is served functions simultaneously as the lobby, reception, and cafe/restaurant. It is a terrible arrangement. I would not recommend this place.
