The Cubby

We had a lovely stay at The Cubby. The kitchen had everything coffee pod machine, sandwich maker ect. there was a ripper of a wood fire heater which pretty much heated the whole house. 2 spacious bedrooms with comfy beds, 1 bathroom but plenty of room. lounge was cosy. booking in staff were responsive when looking for wood and kindling, it’s in padlocked cupboard just outside glass door. We were fortunate to be there when we had a large dump of snow, it was a delight to sit in the warmth looking at the snow fall. the cubby is up high with an outlook.

Whilst we got in to accomodation at 3pm we were advised check in was 4pm. which I thought was stingy considering the price (over $1000 for 1 night)

The location was amazing.

When we arrived and found vomit on the floor of the master bedroom. No viable wood or a blocked flu, a portable ‘loan heater’ upstairs and ants throughout the property we were severely disappointed. No wifi not even a tv that we could cast our own devices from. 40 odd DVD’s to play but no working tech to do it. 1 old tv in the whole property. The amount we paid per night was more than some people get paid a week. I’d have never paid it else where and was gobsmacked at the calibre of the property. Someone was happy to take money to supply this. Wow. The best part was watching the lads out the kitchen window at midnight doing circle work in the Scrubbers end carpark. Sad.
