Villa Wachtertor

Ein tolles Haus mit interessanter Geschichte, mit sehr viel Charme eingerichtet und hervorragend ausgestattet. Ruhige Lage und dennoch relativ zentral. Ideal um von dort aus die Wachau zu erkunden - egal ob mit dem Auto oder mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Die Unterkunft in einem historischen Gebäude hat ein eigenes Flair. Sie liegt oberhalb des Zentrums von Krems und man genießt einen wunderbaren Blick auf Stift Göttweig. In kaum 5 Minuten ist man im Zentrum von Krems. Wer allerdings nicht gut zu Fuß ist, sollte wissen, dass der Rückweg steil über Kopfsteinpflaster hinaufführt. Mit normaler Kondition alles kein Problem. Die Wohnung liegt ruhig. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Wer die Öffis nutzen möchte, erreicht Bahnhof und Busbahnhof - ohne Gepäck in etwa 10 Minuten. Der Vermieter wohnt im selben Haus, ist jederzeit ansprechbar und sehr freundlich.

Da gibt es nichts zu bemängeln.

As with most apartments i appreciate the kitchen had sugar, salt , pepper, coffee, herbs . The bathroom had toothpaste, extra new brush, tampons , aftershave balm. Those little things that makes your vacation perfect ,even if you forgot to stop at the supermarket. The apartment is located at the edge of the blue zone (center area). The host saved us a parking place but I think you can find a free place in the street above the apartment. Entering the apartment takes 15 stairs from the street. It's an old building but very well maintained. The kitchen is like in the 70s and fully equipped. The plates are genuine Zweibelmuster ! (Czech made). It has a small toilet room , one bathroom. One huge kitchen , One huge bedroom (with piano) and one living room with 40" cable tv. High ceiling , high windows . Sound proof. This is a quiet area anyhow. can easily accommodate 4 people. Shaders will block only 70% of the huge windows. Every room has radiator (great heating, as the host pre-heated the apartment for us in November). I had hot water within a few seconds no matter what hour. Not sure how the apartment in the summer but it has very thick walls. Thomas , the host, is very responsive in whatsapp. he is such a kind man. Living room has an IKEA retractable sofa which is very compfy for sleeping as well as sitting. Internet : access point repeater provides 11mbps download and 4mbps upload. Very basic but stable .

Not much. You have to be nit picking to find bad things. Light in the front door . The host leaves the key in a lock box but there is no street light. I wish the apartment had a laundry machine for long stays. You need to get used to a high toilet that was built for elderly people. The living room has an authentic parquet . It squeaks at night when you walk . Known issue with old parquet.

Es handelt sich um eine ruhige und stilvoll mit teilweise antiken Möbeln eingerichtete Wohnung im ersten Stock der Villa Wachtertor. Außerdem steht ein eigener Gartenbereich mit Terrasse zur Verfügung, von der man einen schönen Blick auf das gegenüberliegende Stift Göttweig hat.

Die in den Fenstern des Schlafzimmers eingebauten Rollos verdunkeln leider nicht sonderlich, so dass es im Sommer sehr früh hell im Zimmer wird.
