TORA HOTEL Tokyo Ueno 寅ホテル 上野 D

Convenient to several metro lines. Plenty of space.

Bathroom needs additional lighting. Need additional instructions for turning on heat.

Good size (for Tokyo) and good layout for a family. Close to multiple subway stations and close to Ueno. Clean and well set up. Easy to book.

Prefer the oversized panda was not there (it took up a lot of room in a small apartment)

The property is close to a few different train stations in the Ueno neighborhood. There are also plenty of bars, cafés, izakayas, and restaurants close to the building so finding somewhere to eat and relax is easy. Regarding the amenities themselves, they were a great value for the price. The hosts of Tora Hotel Ueno are extremely communicative through the Booking messenger platform. I appreciate that they sent us a guidebook; it included helpful information on how to adjust the water temperature, rules regarding trash separation in Japan, and how to use the washing machine. The hosts also The panda decor is also very cute. If you are traveling with young kids, I think this is a nice plus. We were also happy to have large bottles of soap/shampoo, extra toothbrushes, and replacement trash bags included with our stay. One thing to keep in mind about this hotel is that the rooms are stacked vertically and the only way to get up/down is a narrow staircase. If you have large amounts of rolling suitcases, require a stroller for your child, or for some reason cannot physically tolerate going up and down, I encourage you to manage your expectations accordingly.

I wish there was a shower curtain in the bathroom. Another suggestion I have for the hosts is to include a separate dryer in addition to the washer in the laundry room across from 4F.

The decor was very cute inside of the property.

- Very bad water pressure on showers - No elevator was a big pain when carrying two heavy suitcases, and multiple bags - There wasn’t anyone who could at least assist with efforts in carrying the luggage in relation to the above point
