The view made every other issue or concern fade away. It is truly the best view of the ocean. what you see from the front porch is exactly what you will find. We were 50 meters from the water, at most. Sitting on this beautiful front porch was exactly what our family needed after months of fighting illness. We were lucky to have plenty of sunshine and blue skies, and even though it was quite cold due to traveling in April, we bundled up and sat on the front porch every evening to watch the sunset. What a spectacular location.
Also, the kitchen is FULLY equipped. Not only do you have a stove and cooktop, but microwave, panini maker, toaster, and plenty of cookware. We did have to buy a sharp knife to cut our fruit because the old knife was broken, but it was such a small expense and just not worth it to have the owner provide this during Holy Week. I know she would have resolved it though had I of asked, but she quickly resolved another issue.
The property manager was very quick and responsive to our requests. She was friendly and eager to help us.
The owner brought us a jar of local honey and a bottle of olive oil. He was so kind and took great pride in the house. It was really nice to stay somewhere owned by a local, versus a chain hotel. We could tell that he loved the house and location as much as we did. And he even invited us to his Greek restaurant in the town near where my oldest daughter studies. So we can't wait to go and meet with him again. They are such a lovely family and we are grateful to have stayed at this property.
Because we booked this location in April, there were a few serious off season issues to be aware of, when booking. I don't know if these would be problematic during the summer months, but I will share what we experienced. Do keep in mind though, just as we did, that is was off-season. I expect in the summer it would be quite different.
A) The water in the house was cold....ice cold. When we spoke to the property manager, she immediately came with the plumber to switch the system from solar to traditional water heating. We waited about 30 minutes and indeed, the water was then warm. Unfortunately, because that system had not been used in quite some time, there was an intense and unhealthy smell of Sulphur anytime we tried to use the hot water. We had to shower though, as we stayed at the property for a week. Even with a quick and stinky Sulpher rinse, the water would still not stay hot for longer than a few minutes. There was certainly no way a family of four could have a warm shower at this property at this time of year.
B) There is not a functioning washing machine. We told the property manager this, but she never corrected this problem. I think she was more concerned about resolving the hot water issue, as were we. Nonetheless, we packed thinking we would have a washing machine and warm water, only to learn that neither of those things were happening. By the end of the week, we smelled a lot like we had been camping rather than having spent more than a thousand Euro on a beach house. But again... that view was just spectacular and I would book the same house again in a heartbeat. Clearly, we were in serious need of sunshine and relaxation. But it is a lot of money to spend on a house without hot water or a washing machine.
C) This as nothing to do with the house, but everything to do with the location. We didn't know this in advance, but Thassos is a total ghost town between mid September and mid May. Consider this when booking off season.

This small but charming house is right on the beach. The private beach is with pebbles, which might look discouraging at first glance, however, in time we learned to appreciate it, as we didn't carry any sand in the house throughout our vacation.
The house is fully equipped with everything you need, from washing machine to dishwasher, stove, fridge, wi-fi etc. There are 4 sun loungers, 2 beach chairs and 2 umbrellas available on the beach for you.
The neighbours are very friendly and so Greek...just wonderful people :) . Also, sunsets are AMAZING! Water is clean, shallow, perfect.
The owner was so kind to offer us a complimentary boat trip around the island, some home-made olive oil and honey. We really appreciated their kindness.
Just 20 meters away on the beach you can find a Greek taverna with amazing delicious food, at very affordable prices.
All in all, I think it was the most beautiful and relaxing vacation we've had in years. Totally worth it! I highly recommend this place!

Great location and facilities (mostly fully equipped with everything and new appliances).
A close by restaurant meets the eating needs.
Nearby markets and pharmacy.
Host was very helpful and nice!
Maybe a bit better clean-up between stays/clients would help, but not to be considered as a major downside.
