Cherryburn Cottage

It was a clean cottage with spacious room in a great location for exploring the Northumberland coast. It was very quiet, which was exactly what we wanted for a relaxing break.

The cottage could use some updating. The sofa/armchairs were very uncomfortable. The stuffing was not existent. The bathroom has no shower over the bath, but instead you have to connect an old fashioned shower hose to hot/cold taps. Taps in Bathroom difficult to turn on/off. The kitchen needed more cutlery and cooking utensils. If a family were staying, they would be washing up constantly as there was strictly 4 of everything! Also the fridge wasn’t full size and leaked water every day into the bottom- which we did report and know will be addressed.

There was no shower only a bath that has a rubber hose/ shower head which was pushed over the bath taps. They really need to provide a shower

Didn’t have breakfast. Didn’t expect it to be such a crowded complex. Fortunately we were there in the quieter season otherwise the noise of cars on gravel would be disturbing especially as the only place to sit outside is at the front door. I suppose we are used to a cottage with a garden.

Our only problem apart from no private outside space was the lack of a shower. Our bathroom only had a bath. This would have been manageable except the hot water ran freely and was very hot but the cold water was very slow. Having said that we had a lovely week and it was a very convenient centre. The cottage was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean.

Very comfortable and loved sitting by the long window, watching the birds. Very relaxing

Bar was closed Monday and Tuesday which was a shame when we were booked Sunday to Wednesday. Also that the pool was an extra cost to use .
