Never again in this villa

The surroundings.

The main problem was the location!!!! In Booking there is one location, but when you arrive it turns to be a parking. The villa is outside the village of Potos, not in the center as it is written. This was a big problem for us because we were trying to find the villa almost an hour and nobody answered the phone as well to help us. We found the right location only with the help of the local people. I chose the villa, because I was thinking that it is at the center of Potos, not so far from the village. It wasn’t clean at all. Also the whole room was smelly and dirty. The bathroom was filthy and smelly as well. The mattress was covered with plastic wrap and it was uncomfortable - hot and noisy, to sleep on it. We spent as little time as possible in the room, because it wasn’t comfortable at all.

Fraud with fake promises and descriptions

The staff were very friendly and kind.

I paid for a room with pool view and balcony and they give me a basement without even a window. The location of the house is not where appears in the map of the booking (fraud) it’s 2 km far away in the middle of the nowhere, somewhere in the fields. There are many insects and spiders (check the images) that we had to face every day and night, that was difficult and dangerous for our little children. The furniture was broken. Even though I paid 140€ per night it does not worth even 20€. We ask for another room and they said no. The parking for the car was an olive field. It was the worst experience ever.

The hotel staff Mr. Halil and Ms. Cemile, were very devoted and friendly. A facility with a beautiful location, located in an olive grove

The room which we reserved was completely different from the photos on Booking. We were given a different room. The room next to us had complained about same thing. While the room we reserved appeared to be on the top floor with a pool view and a balcony conditions on booking choice, we were given a basement room at the back, overlooking the pool. We realized we've been scammed. There are around 10-12 rooms in total, and although the rooms are shown with balconies and pool views in the photos and booking room selections, only certain rooms have these conditions. Also we had to deal with scary spiders every day in our room on the garden floor. There were no tools like sponges or dishwashing detergent in the kitchen.

Excelent for us !

We stayed here last year and this year, is great for our needs. San Antonio beach is very close - 5 min walk or 1 min by car. Potos town the same.

Great stay

Staff (Halil) was super nice and helpful. He made us feel like home. The apartment we got was brand new and nicely decorated.

In the apartment we got you would need to pass through one bedroom to reach the bathroom which made things a bit inconvenient. However, I understood not all the apartments are like that, so it depends on your luck of what you get. No big deal anyway.

Most relaxing place to stay

The place was wonderful! The rooms are clean and cosy. There is a big yard with olive trees and a pool, which is absolutely enough. It is close to the Potos Beach - you can go walking or by car. Furthermore, the owners have a Taverna in the village of Theologos, which is nearby. They offer seafood, lamb, goat, and other specialties. Theologos is a historical place that is a must-visit sight. Most importantly, the hosts are wonderful, they are very polite and took care of everything we needed!

The only thing we didn't like was that our stay was too short :) We have no complaints because everything was perfect - the island itself, Potos, the beach, and of course Villa Iatrou.

AVOID AT ALL COST, DIDNT STAY BOOKING.COM REFUSED ASSISTANT!!!

Absolutely nothing!! Was so disappointed it was filthy, it was in an uninhabitable state and not fit for human residence. Was greeted by man in just tracksuit bottoms with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth

Everything, dirty hairs all over, filthy fridge and freezer. Unclean utensils, cooker, kettle Torn headboard. Dirty handles on units, filthy behind bed, paint worn off things, shutter pulley ripped and worn, air con pointless and looked in disrepair… need I go on?! NO RESTAURANT NO BAR NO RECEPTION NO FOOD AVAILABLE DOWN A DIRT TRACK ABOUT 1 km FROM TOWN /SHOP/RESTAURANT etc not as described at all and the images online booking .com are nothing like reality.

Charming place and surroundings, nice staff. I will gladly return to Villa Iatrou!

It is placed in lovely surrounding in a tranquil olive grove. It is outside the village but within walking distance. Also within walking distance there is the San Antonio beach which is not crowded, has good sand and some cliffs nearby with wonderful scenery and good places for scuba diving. There are good places to eat on the beach and even closer to the property. The property offers parking places. The rooms are big, renovated and have the necessaries (sheets, towels, basic tableware). The personnel was very attentive to our needs. The pool was nice and clean. We especially liked the table and chairs each room has right outside, where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning and meals and scenery all day long. We also liked very much the Taverna Iatrou in Theologos, which has the same owner: the food is excellent and you get a discount for staying in their villa!

There is no food or drink on the villa and no store nearby, so be careful not to ran out of what you need! There is always some (very helpful) staff there, but their place is not signalled at all so newly arrived guests wonder around a bit (see the small construction on the right side!). Occasionally some light sewage problems.

Relaxed, fair,

Villa is is withdrawn from the noise, with a good pool , properly for Childs (1,2 m) , parking is under the olive three , int he own garden, Staff and local superintendent Mr. Hallil were very friendly and a good guests. I appreciate discount to Iatrou Tavern for Iatrou Villa clients.

I select this residence in special for closed location on the Potos center and to the beach. I were completely astonished to find out that the location published in Booking is not a real one, the real location is situated on outside Potos, on one Km from Potos center, near on San Antonio Beach. This was the reason that we keep this booking. I highly recommend to Iatrou Villa stuff to update the real location on Booking.com.

Great place for the family to explore Thassos from…

Basic, but clean. Perfect for a family of four. You need a car, but is a great base to explore the island from. 10 mins walk to the beach. Pool was very welcome with the kids.

Staff. The man who works there is kindfull.

When I arrived, they couldn't find the reservation even though I showed them the reservation number. We waited two hours to get a room. The villa is not in Potos but outside Potos. On the booking, it says 20 meters from the center and the distance is 900 meters. The bathroom is ok, the kitchen is old. The room is ok. They did not clean at all for 10 days. The yard is big, there are lizards and the pool is dirty. There were nights when guests bathed all night and made noise. It's not worth the money.

I would not reccommend this place for anyone.

The pool was ok. The janitor who was taking care of the property was helpful, but we could only communicate with google translate.

On the booking.com we were promised to get a 40 sq meters room with balcony. What we got was a max 25 sq meters room with very small (probably 80 x 40 cm) window, no balcony, very small bathroom with an unpleasant smell. We tried to contact the owner on booking.com asking for a room we were promised but no answer. Tried to call the telephone numbers given, no answer, my calls were not returned.

Nice stay but it is not really value for money.

Nice host who tried to do his best to make is welcome.

The description on Booking says it has AC but it hasn’t. Most of the rooms have no AC and this is a real issue as during the day the temperature was above 30 degrees Celsius and in the night it was also very hot and humid. For those who can’t sleep when it is hot this is a real issue. Also it was very difficult to find the location: the location on Booking is wrong, it has to be updated. Actually the villa is somewhere outside Potos, on a secondary road. Finally Google Maps helped but it should be updated in Booking too.

HORRİBLE!

We have liked nothing about the hotel. the only good part of out few days was the nise island tasos and beautiful beaches.

The room I payed and the room given to me was different. I paid for a room with two bedrooms but the room given to us was single room. We have been promised to change the the room every night but then they did not change. very upset with the treatment we have seen. no one was available at the reception and our phone call were not picked up. we will officially complain for full refund.

Wardrobe was very old, as well as kitchen. There was not enough dishes (eg. pan). Room is very dark and a little bit scary. We can’t even count number of lizards we saw in our apartment. Bad ratio price/quality.

the lady from cleaning was amazing, quiet place with lots of threes, olive threes, the pool is close to every room, perfect for family, perfect for children.

the room looks bigger in pictures, but was not a problem, the wi-fi signal was poor, distance to beach was not really 200m, actualy 600-700 m, but nothing to worry too much, there was plenty of parking spots at the beach.

We had booked a room for 4 people. We arrived around 4 p.m. And there was nobody at the reception (door clearly marked with a logo, nobody answered when we knocked). There was a couple in the pool, who we asked how to do. They replied that they were in the same situation as us: group of 4 people (Moldovans), arrived two hours earlier, having reserved two rooms. A person on the phone had told them that they had only one room, that the key was on the door: room 9. They were therefore waiting for a solution to have a second room. We called the phone number of our Booking reservation several times, and no one ever picked up. We went for a walk and repeated our phone calls, without success. In the evening, around 10 p.m., we had an exchange by text via the Booking app. I eventually had someone on the phone, who told me to go to room 10, and that the key should be on the door… But in room 10 there was already light, and clothes drying in front of it! We were then told to go to room 9, and I pointed out to the person on the phone that this was precisely what the Moldovan couple had been told; the room was actually occupied. Around 11 p.m., via the app, we were finally told that there was no more room in the villa! Yet our money had been debited. We were then written the address of a guest house where we could go, that the owners were informed that we were coming. On the spot, the person did not understand one single word of English. We found ourselves in a room for 3 when there were 4 of us and we had already paid for a room for 4. We then asked for a second room. The accommodation was also not of the standard corresponding to the amount we had paid.
