Vineyards Hill Villa

We had a lovely time at this great villa. The house is clean, cozy and comfortable. It consists of two small bedrooms and a spacious living room with a kitchen. The latter is very well-equipped. What's more, there is salt, sugar, tea, coffee, olive oil, jam and honey at your disposal. The bathroom is quite big and the shower cabin is comfy. There's a private parking lot and a beautiful courtyard. We enjoyed sitting on the sunbeds there in the evenings. The hosts are very friendly and hospitable. They live in the house next door so it's very easy to contact them if you need something. On our arrival, we were given lots of welcome gifts (a bottle of wine, nuts, crisps and some sweets). There was also cold water and juice in the fridge. The location is great. Firstly, Megalochori is a lovely village with nice churches and lots of taverns. I highly recommend Steki souvlaki & more. They serve the best chicken souvlaki and gyros we've ever eaten. Secondly, there are three nice beaches just in a 12 minutes’ drive. There are also big supermarkets such as Lidl, AB and Masoutis in a 5-10 minutes’ drive. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Thira and 35 minutes to Oia.

Our son complained that his bed mattress was too firm. The water cools down a lot during the night so if you need hot water for taking a shower early in the morning just tell the hosts and they'll heat it for you. The roads leading to the house are narrow and steep so one should be a confident driver to go there. In fact, there are three different ways through Megalochori. The first one is very narrow and steep with no people and few cars, the other two are wider and less steep but there lots of pedestrians, especially in the evening.

Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und doch sehr nah an Restaurants bzw. dem Ortskern. Der Garten ist extrem Kinderfreundlich, unsere Kinder haben es geliebt. Viele Sitzgelegenheiten zum Abschalten für die Erwachsenen.

I proprietari di Vineyards Hill Villa sono due belle persone e ottimi host! Hanno dato un plus al nostro soggiorno con i loro suggerimenti e attenzioni. La villa è situata in contesto rurale tra vigne e appena sopra un maneggio. L'appartamento in villa per noi 4 è stato perfetto, pulito, spazioso e completo di tutto, ma veramente TUTTO ( e anche di più)! Bello lo spazio all'aperto. E' a 5 minuti a piedi dal centro di Megalochori. Ideale per chi vuole immergersi nella Santorini rurale, avere un rifugio dalla chiassosa caldera pur mantenendo una vicinanza e comodità assoluta per visitare ogni angolo dell'isola!
