Facilities great,cleanliness certainly let this property down,

The facilities were amazing, everything we expected from the pictures, great hot tub,swimming pool and sauna,easy to get to lovely places.Torquay,totnes,dartmoor national park on the doorstep,comfortable bed,

This should be a 5* apartment, with the facilities the owners offer, access to apartment steps were slippy and covered in leaves and berries, uneven flag stones on access to property, heating not on ,on arrival and only on 2-3 hrs that evening,no information on how to use it,we found out later it is organised by the owners next door, not on at all the next day,couldn’t dry towels at all,had to put fire on and hang them around the fire not ideal, heating sorted when I contacted fresh escapes,owners apologies and sorted timer out, main disappointment was the cleanliness supposed to be professionally cleaned, 2* if that, we paid £90 for cleaning and linen, fridge,toaster dirty and full of crumbs, pan’s dirty, cupboards greasy, old baking tray and broken utensil left in drawer, cutlery holder’s both dirty, We found a tennis ball under the coffee table and hair bobble under settee cushions as well as dirt and crumbs,obviously not checked, No frying pan or scissor’s

Excellent location just needs some improvement

Location and bed was comfy

Shower pressure was awful, sleeping interruption from the neighbours dog who wouldn’t stop barking for a whole hour and upset our dogs. Website needs idiot proofing, as we didn’t have any clear instructions on the app as to where the apartment was.

Great stay in lovely rural location with use of hosts pool. On expensive side however.

Lovely rural location and perfect for us with a wedding nearby. Hosts could not have done more for us, and Fresh Escapes provided us with an iron within 10mins of request! Use of hosts beautiful pool and sauna was fabulous. Very clean and comfortable. Nicest smelling bed sheets I have ever experienced on a holiday rental!

However, it is expensive for property and shower is incredibly lacking in power. This needs looking at, be it to increase pressure installing a power shower or sorting pressure out.

Great facilities and stay here despite some small issues

Brilliant facilities, lovely pool, sauna and hot tub. Beautiful and scenic area, away from busy roads. Comfy bed and nice TV. Despite the issues with check-in, it was a lovely stay and I highly recommend.

We didn't receive the PIN for the key or much information to arrive, so we waited around to receive it. Some of the stay guide was wrong based on the facilities, eg, how to operate the hot tub and no instructions on how to use the BBQ (which didn't work on attempt). The shower was very very weak and trickled and struggled to become hot. A floor light kept turning itself on and off. Parking was quite awkward and steep. Suspicious stain on the blanket on the bed.

Great peaceful retreat

This is our second visit to Swifts Return. As always cozy place to stay, peaceful and great for our Husky too. Love it so much that we will be returning in October to celebrate birthday again.

Unfortunately the hob was only half functioning with two bottom rings not working. Also the dishwasher kept tripping fuse. And sadly whoever was there before also never cleaned out the wood burner in hot tub so we had to do that before getting hot tub on.

Disappointing and not value for money

Beautiful location close to Dartmoor.

Swimming pool was advertised on booking.com website as in use all year round - this didn’t match with the company that managed the property, stating the pool was closed for routine maintenance from January to March. Unless you read all the information for the property management company this isn’t obvious. As a result the sauna was not available for use as access was through the pool and the door was locked. Also the wood burner hot tub was impossible to use. We had to fill it ourselves on arrival - stating this would take an hour but took more than two and a half to fill. Getting the wood burner going to heat the water was a lot of effort - we spent two hours trying and only managed to get the water temperature to 28 degrees- not warm enough to get into and enjoy. It was advertised as a hot tub/jacuzzi on booking.com but there were no jets. We tried to contact Fresh Escapes by email and they replied - 14 hours later - saying that the booking information was clear about the pool being closed, but it isn’t on the booking.com page. We called Fresh Escaoes Saturday morning and had to leave a message as no advisers were available. They did not call back. We received a 14 page manual explaining how to get to the property and what was expected e.g. no noise after 11pm to 8am. We discovered that this was because another property was linked to our apartment by a locked door at the other side of a cupboard door where cleaning equipment was stored. We could hear the people having a shower and dogs barking. The property is advertised as semi detached but it is linked by these doors - not an accurate description of the property. We received several emails and text messages from Fresh Escapes over the weekend advising us to contact gem if there were any problems but on Sunday morning - 24 hrs before we were due to depart - another text message was sent with a list of all the things we had to do before 10am the next morning - empty hot tub, clean wood burner, recycling etc.

Disappointing, well over priced, but we made the most of it.

We liked the sofa, bedroom was comfortable, loved the kitchen. Liked that we were able to use the pool and Sauna before we went home. The log fire.

The toilet seat was loose and wouldn’t flush for a long time after use. If the apartment was at temperature then none of the radiators came on including the bathroom, which was cold and made it tricky to dry wet stuff. The TV doesn’t have normal channels, bed throw dirty. Couldn’t use hot tub takes too long to fill up and heat up, we gave up after a few hours. The pool and sauna are separate and shared, false advertising. The pool too cold and we didn’t have the full instructions to use the sauna. Hoping for some money back or a discount return holiday.

Superb

Everything the hot , tub was at first bit strange but very good once we got going,, Telly was dodgy but Lawrence was super and sorted it straight away . Met the owners and we will be back fully recommend it all the WiFi was very good too ! And what a fantastic setting . Thank you and everyone just book it you will have a great time … Phil Booth & Keran my lovely wife Southmpton.
