About this house rental
In the heart of the Alpine Village sits the Dicky Bird suite. This is a cozy space for one family or a couple to enjoy. From here you can ski to the lifts or stare at the views of Strathcona Park. Here to relax? We have you covered with no vehicle traffic you can watch the kids play outside without having to worry. Have fun playing board games, make memories and soak up the magic of the Alpine Village in style this winter at the Birdhouse.
The Dicky bird is a loft unit with a queen bed upstairs and a pull out sofa bed downstairs, it is suitable for one small family with children or two adults. We do not recommend more than two adults in the unit for a comfortable stay. Due to the loft setup it is not recommended for younger children under the age of 5. The Dicky Bird is a pet free accommodation; no exceptions. The kitchenette is small and simply equipped with essential basics for light meal preparation and does not include a microwave. We recommend guests planning more extensive cooking to consider our larger unit.

We are a ski out chalet and at the end of the day you will have to take your skis off to walk up the hill- the magic at the top is worth it!
During the winter months the village is walk in only. From the parking lot it is about a 7-8 minute walk to the Dicky Bird. We provide one complimentary shuttle in to deliver bags and gear during ski season. The Dicky Bird is allowed one parking space in the village parking lot during ski season.
During the summer/fall months you can drive right up to the Dicky Bird. There is street parking beside the building or you can park in Dougan's parking lot.
Parking during the winter months: A week prior to your trip you will be asked to provide your license plate number along with a reachable phone number while on the mountain. This is required for vehicle parking registration PRIOR to your arrival. Vehicles not registered or parking information provided at the time of arrival may risk the vehicle being towed. The Dicky Bird has been assigned parking for one vehicle only. Additional parking passes are not available at this time.

The property is clean, compact, well-equipped and easy to access. Communication with the owners was excellent - always quick to respond. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.

Cozy, well appointed apartment, comfortable bed, a selection of pillows, quick response from host, great mountain views, no microwave/dishwasher nor tv but lots of board games & we didn’t miss the others. Pick up service worked very efficiently with pleasant driver.

We just returned from a 3-night stay at Dicky Bird.
Property: The unit is small, but functional, nicely decorated, extremely clean and might have been renovated just recently. Karen and Jen were very responsive hosts. A bit more clothes storage in the loft would be helpful.
Parking: The property is not accessible by car. Guests have to park in a lot that is an 8-10 minute walk away. Luggage transport is available until 8 or 9pm. You get one transport service included in the rental, or pay $30 for more. There is a transport sled in the house that you can load with bags and pull to the car (in the winter).
Location: Good location, but for those who have never been to Mt. Washington, it is quite easy to get lost in the 'village'. There is few signage and a few maps pointing you to your building. Despite the best possible directions from the hosts, it took us a good 20 minutes to find our place. Strongly recommend to arrive during daylight if possible.

Great accomodation that is clean and we'll located. Make sure to read the description as it is small but that did not detract from our holiday.Just remember to pack light as drying space is at a premium.
