About this house rental

If you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy privacy, peace, and quiet, "Forest View" is the home for you. Located just outside a gated community on a private road, this guest house is centrally located and perfect for a short or long term stay.

The home is easily accessible with no outside or inside stairs and curbless showers. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals (including a variety of herbs/spices, oils, and vinegar, ). We also supply coffee (Keurig and Mr. Coffee), tea, and hot chocolate.
There is a Generac whole-house generator for those unexpected and PG&E-scheduled power outages. There are smart tv's in every room to enable access to your favorite shows and high speed WiFi for all of your devices. We have a level two 40 amp car charger (adapter needed for Teslas) available for a small fee.

Enjoy the spectacular views and sunsets on the large deck including dining for six, a gas fire pit, a gas grill, and a Blackstone gas griddle.

Children are welcome. However, the home is not child-proofed and may not be suitable for children under five.

Owners are located on the property if anything else is needed. (Your privacy is very well respected.)

We visited the area to attend Murphys’ Irish Days with friends who live in Laguna Hills. This was their first visit to a historical Gold Country town. After experiencing the parade, other festivities, great food, shopping and people watching, we were ready for Arlene & Adam’s private getaway. Their property is well maintained, the home is well appointed, and the views well worth the drive up the hill. When we had questions or issues to resolve, Arlene was quick to respond to ensure we had a lovely stay. When we have the opportunity, we’ll stay there again.

Adam and Arlene have a beautiful guest home with woodsy views. The home is even more gorgeous than pictured and fully stocked with everything you could need. Property is great for relaxing, enjoying movies, and a nice location on the way to bear valley. We enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and beautiful bathrooms. The deck has a fire pit with great views as well. Adam and Arlene were very attentive and helpful, yet respectful of our privacy. We loved the stay and hope to visit again!

All it took was stepping through the front door of this amazing home to know that we were in a very special place! Gorgeous, secluded views of the oak-studded hills, a beautiful upscale interior that met our every need and more, thoughtful hosts who were available to help but respected our privacy, all provided us a perfect 4 day stay in the Murphys area. Our favorite highlights were the stunning deck with the gas fire pit, the perfectly appointed kitchen including snacks, coffee & a lovely welcome note, and the spa-worthy bathrooms. Located in the far reaches of the Forest Meadows area you find a super clean house with a large deck area overlooking the hills filled with oaks and pines. I loved the outdoor deck with a propane BBQ and Blackstone griddle. Cooked multiple meals including bacon/eggs/potatoes and perfectly seared ribeye steaks on the griddle. The house has everything you need and more for a comfortable stay including a fully appointed kitchen with top quality pots, pans, bowls, cooking utensils, large refrigerator, gas stove and everything else. My wife loved the plethora of quality towels, bath products, comfy bed and linens, and how clean everything was on arrival. The owners are local and super friendly and helpful. Close enough to Murphys, wine tasting, and Calaveras Big Trees but far enough away to give you the solitude of a wonderful vacation.

The house is perfect for a quiet getaway. It is tucked back away from the hustle and bustle and has a great view! We were close enough to all of the attractions so that exploring the area was easy. Arlene and Adam were great hosts! Nice personal touches and coffee, bottled water, and snacks available as well. The house is comfortably furnished with a warm homey feeling. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay : - )

We can not say enough good things about this property! Arlene and Adam did not skip a beat in making sure every and I mean EVERY amenity was taken care of. The house is gorgeous and literally has what you need to make your stay amazing...down to the bath bombs! :)~ Arlene was very responsive and available if we needed her. This truly is a home away from home. Bring your personal belongings and you will want for nothing else. Everything you need is already there for you. We spent Christmas 2024 here and we cooked, baked, bbq, skied, laughed, sat by the fire and made memories. The cabin is immaculate and everything from the moment we confirmed our booking until we left was seamless. Owners were wonderful and great with communication. There is acres and views for days so while the owners are on property they are extremely respectful. And honestly it was comforting to know they weren’t too far in case we needed anything which we didn’t. We are looking at the calendar now to see when we can go back. This is truly a very special property.

Our experience was above 5 stars! The house is spectacular, super clean, bright, phenomenal views, great location, private and peaceful. Adam & Arlene are terrific hosts. They stocked the house with everything we would need and more. They set the bar very high for other hosts. We felt spoiled! I highly recommend the stay. I would love to come back again.

The home had everything you could ever need. It was immaculate. Everything was very clean, new appliances, cozy beds, great views. The kitchen is better equipped than mine! A large porch with outside barbecue, griddle, firepit, a large patio table. The view into the woods is breath taking. Very relaxing and very hard to leave. Arlene was an amazing host. Apparently, this custom home was built just a few years ago. Located on a hill in a secluded gated community, the quality of building materials and home furnishings is really impressive. It's equipped with literally everything you need. The showers are excellent and there's individual AC controls in every room. The spacious back deck provides unobstructed views across the forest to rolling hills on the horizon. It's a 15-minute drive down to Murphys. Oh, and the hosts/owners are cool people who live further up the hill. I'd definitely stay there again.

We wanted to get away for a fews days for my Birthday and found this jem. Arlene was an amazing host. She communicated everything so clearly and was always quick to respond. We came during a heat wave so she made sure to turn on the AC 30mins before we arrived and we are all grateful for that lol. The home is perfect for two couples. The kitchen, dinningroom and livingroom is open and great for hanging out together. Head out to the clean deck in the evenings, BBQ and watch the sunset. We had a great time and hope to come back in the future!

One of the nicest places we've ever rented. It feels like you're in the tree tops on a mountain. View is amazing and the home is so well done with all the modern finishes but still retains that cozy feeling. You do have to drive up a mountain to get there but it's an absolutely amazing place.

Very easy checkin and communication with the owners prior to our visit and during the stay. Both owners were responsive and helpful. The home is very clean and modern, fully stocked kitchen modern appliances. Nice bathrooms. The deck has an incredible view, very good place to hangout and relax. It feels secluded, but short drives to to Murphys other towns in the area. The recent storms affected internet service and the owners were proactive in solving it.

I stayed here with my 5yro twins and husband. The house was perfect, it had everything we needed and more. We went to Murphys to take our boys to the snow but since the first day was rainy, we spent it indoors. We played board games, worked on puzzles, took baths (in a bathtub with the view of the forest) and cooked dinner. The kitchen is fully stocked and has everything you need. The next day we went to Bear Valley, which is only about a 40 minute drive. The location of this home is so convenient, it's close to Murphys downtown and Arnold so it's perfect if you want to go out to dinner and participate in snow activities. I highly recommend this house and can't wait to return! Thank you Arlene and Adam!

We LOVED staying at Arlene and Adam's house - so comfortable, perfect amount of room for 2 couples. Arlene's kitchen is the most well appointed kitchen and was perfect for our group. Bonus points for no stairs and walk in showers made it a great fit for my friend who uses a cane. THANKS VERY MUCH for the stay, we really enjoyed it.

This is a 6 star VRBO! The house is wonderful, it is brand new and has everything you want for a cozy place in the mountains. We spent a few days here, you are in a quiet area, remote but close to Murphys and Arnold and get the best of both worlds. The hosts are great and we’d definitely stay here again!!

This place is stunning. The decor is so well done with high end finishes but a cozy feel. The kitchen has everything we needed. We spent a lot of time on the deck around the fire pit overlooking the hills. It’s a little drive to get up here but so we’ll with it. I love this place and will defiantly be back. Five stars are not enough to rate this truly perfect experience. The hosts provided a fully supplied kitchen, snacks and a sweet anniversary surprise. The furnishings and finishes were top quality. The view from the deck was wide open and a perfect place for coffee in the morning. We made dinner every night in the outdoor grill .

The property appears brand new and was immaculate. Adam & Arlene, the owners, were very hospitable leaving snacks and beverages for us with a lovely note upon arrival. They have thought of every detail. There was a great collection of movies for families and adults, popcorn, coffee, and tea. We were so thankful to have air conditioning during the heat wave, which is difficult to find in the area on VRBO. The property was well located in between Murphy’s and Arnold. We explored from Vallecito to Big Trees easily. The house and all of the outside seating was very comfortable. The sunsets were gorgeous and the outdoor solar lighting makes this diamond shine at night. Do not hesitate to book this place for a relaxing getaway.

We could not have had a better time relaxing, renewing and going on fun adventures having this beautiful home as our 'basecamp'! Wonderful in every way, we took advantage of all the spaces but the balcony with it's sweeping views was our favorite. Arlene and Adam pay attention to every detail and I truly mean every detail. They were easy to communicate with and so welcoming.
