Baiona Sainte Cath -2-BI-

One of the nicest Booking.com places i've ever stayed and one of the most delightful experiences yet. A fully modernized flat in a charming old building (1870s?) in a charming neighbourhood in Downtown Bayonne with very convenient public transportation a few minutes walk. But what made the stay exceptionally delightful was how friendly everyone was despite my execrabl French and non-existent Basque. From Lorenzo Pizza Shop owner who graciously allowed me to contact the host on their internet (Warning to English Vodafone customers - data roaming does NOT work in Southwest France. Cross the border to San Sebastian, and it works perfectly), to the proprietess of Jeans & Co. who recommended a shop owner when the strap on my briefcase broke, and the cheerful shopowner who replaced it almost immediately.

No salt in the flat. But I went out and bought a container and left it there! :)

The location is great, very nice neighbourhood with easy access to the center. Apartment has most things you need for a short stay. Clean.

The bed was a bit too small bed for 2 people and not the most comfortable. A small ventilator would have been nice for warm nights especially since the street is rather loud.
