Lovely little cottage with it's own e trance and dog friendly garden.
Host's we're very nice and kind.
The cottage is small but has everything you could possibly need.
The Town is really friendly with four pubs, two or three bakers,a lovely tea room,a couple of cafes and a hardware shop which was like Allan's cave!
The history of the town is amazing and the church is gorgeous.
I am not a fan of shower curtains but it is needed due to size of bathroom.

Fabulous location in the heart of Chagford Village. Cute cozy comfy cottage with all you needed.

This is a small comfortable and well-equipped base from which we explored Dartmoor, knowing that however cold, wet and muddy we got, we were able to return to the secure car parking space behind a private gate and dry off in this secluded cottage hidden away up a narrow path with its own small garden. We enjoyed a comfortable 5 nights staying here and even though the shower controls over the bath were a bit unusual and the small washbasin in the bathroom was a challenge, the washing machine under the stairs was a real bonus. We really enjoyed our stay, chatting to our kind host Frances, meeting the crew of the visiting Pizza van on Thursday evening and chatting to the very helpful and friendly staff in Bowdens. We would really like to come back here again.

Lovely cottage in a lovely village. Shower was great, kitchen was handy, bed was comfortable, owner was lovely, they left me ginger cake, and the parking was handy. Highly recommend and I would book again.
Not a dislike but a call out that the parking is through an arch and narrow, I would check your car would fit.

Location was ideal, a perfect little holiday home filled with everything you need to feel at home. A very comfortable bed! A lovely little sun trap of a garden with garden furniture too.
The sink in the bathroom was a bit awkward to use.

Fantastic stay in every way
Francis was so warm welcoming and friendly
Couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable
Fresh flowers and gorgeous home made cake on arrival
The cottage was well equipped cosy and beautifully furnished. Lovely outdoor space with garden furniture and sunshine all day
We were In Chagford for a birthday weekend so didn’t have chance to explore the area much
Wandered round the village which had an array of shops cafes and three pubs so if you don’t want to cook there’s lots of choice to eat out
Would love to return again to explore and do some local walks
Thanks again Francis for being the perfect host

This cottage was absolutely gorgeous, hidden off the main road (I say main road, but it's actually a very small country lane which also doubles up as the main road into Chagford!) and down a little path. It was small, but everything you needed was there. The location was perfect for wondering around Chagford, with all the pubs, shops and cafes just up the road and lovely walks in every direction. The parking space was a particular bonus, as parking in Chagford is not the easiest. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a nice meal. The garden looked a lovely spot to sit out in with a coffee or glass of wine, although we didn't try it as it was a rather chilly February weekend. We definitely recommend this delightful cottage.

Very friendly and helpful owners. Cottage was lovely
Owners may want to make this change: Cooker extractor glass frame/cover is at a difficult height for people using the hob and are over 5 10" in height. Which resulted in some banged heads.
Cottage was mainly clean but some Items in the cottage especially at a height were very dusty

The cottage is tucked away down a little side path, very well maintained, nice little garden and a lovely big bedroom and comfortable bed. The village itself from the onset looks lovely, some nice pubs and little shops and good places to walk.
The cottage was a little on the small side, the bathroom and toilet location were not great. If you are a stocky lad like myself trying to sit on that toilet is near impossible. The cooker hood and extractor fan did not work. We brought with us 2 little dogs (micro dogs if you like) and we had mentioned we were bringing the dogs but upon arrival we were met with hostility and astonishment. "We didn't know you were bringing dogs", "You should of told us" it wasn't the best welcome to be honest, if you advertise a property to accept dogs, expect dogs to come - you know that horrible uncomfortable stare and a big frown.
Stay clear of Chagford Inn if you want to go and eat, prices are disgusting for what they actually bring you. Overall we got that feeling that we were outsiders, tourists, not from the village so not welcome which was a real shame.

My lovely wife and I had the most delightful and unforgettable stay at Wrenscott in Chagford. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a cozy and charming atmosphere that truly felt like a home away from home.
The one-bedroom holiday home was an absolute gem. The private entrance added a sense of exclusivity, and the tastefully designed interior left us in awe.
We particularly enjoyed sipping our morning coffee on the terrace while taking in the picturesque garden views – a perfect start to each day.
Now, let's talk about the bed – oh, what an adventure it was! The bed was not just a bed; it was a majestic throne in the clouds. It was so high that we felt like we were on top of the world (or at least the bedroom). Scaling Mount Mattress every night was a delightful challenge, and we can proudly say we conquered it with grace and style. It was like a mini workout before our beauty sleep, and we must say, we woke up feeling like champions each morning.
We absolutely loved the uniqueness of the bed and the fun it added to our stay. It's a feature that truly sets Wrenscott apart from other properties.
And for those considering a stay, let us assure you – this bed is a testament to the extraordinary experience you'll have at Wrenscott.
So, if you're looking for an unforgettable and one-of-a-kind adventure, make sure you're ready to embrace the magic of the high-flying bed!
Whether you're a couple looking for a romantic getaway or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Wrenscott is the ideal destination. We can't wait to return as a couple and conquer Mount Mattress once again while creating more wonderful memories at this exceptional property
A big thank you to the hosts for providing such a remarkable and hilariously elevated experience.

Wrenscott is a pretty property which offers comfort & privacy. It is rare to find a cottage which offers parking and a garden (suitable for a well behaved dog) in this location, making it a great find.

The cottage was adorable. Lots of lovely touches like a tray laid out for tea when we arrived. The bed was incredibly comfortable which was wonderful. Beautiful garden with added bonus of some rosemary and thyme in pots for cooking. Chagford is a great place to be based, four good pubs, butcher, two bakeries, a dairy, Spar, couple of farm shops and several cafes. We didn't use the car once while we were visiting as there were enough walking options to keep us busy. Frances and Peter were great hosts.

Cozy and comfortable, offering a true home away from home. The accommodation has everything you need. With its own entrance and garden it feels very private, while the very kind and helpful hosts live just next door. Chagford is a very friendly town with nice shops and pubs nearby. We hope to be able to visit Dartmoor again, and will definitely choose to stay at Wrenscott again.
We had no complaints at all!

It was lovely and peaceful with its own parking and so close to the centre and the walks.
if I had to comment, the only thing would be an outside light at the rear to see the dog in the garden. wasn’t a problem as I had a torch.

The property was absolutely stunning. It’s located in a great area in the middle of everything you need, it’s quiet and cosy, and even comes with parking! We were warmly greeted after a long journey and settled in straight away. It felt like a little home away from home, was very clean and had everything we needed for a stay away. Would highly recommend!

We were welcomed with a teapot, cups and pastries ready for tea. Check in was so easy with great communication with Fru. We had stayed before so knew where to park, I'd suggest guests who aren't sure check out entrance to Arch House. The hosts are wonderfully friendly and helpful, it truly feels like a home from home.
We had a couple of rainy days but that's Dartmoor!

A cosy little cottage, in a lovely village setting with lots of local amenities with several local pubs within walking distance .Chagford even has a public outdoor pool . There is parking with the property which is a necessity in the village. Cute little garden , great if taking a dog or sitting outside for breakfast on a sunny morning. The bed was so comfortable ,one of the best we've slept in. And the shower was great too. Always had instant hot water. All your essential needs have been catered for. Good WiFi. Little things but so important if you want returning guests.
The host are welcoming and available if you have any problems.
