Masseria Trulli e Vigne

There are simply not enough superlatives to adequately describe this property. First off, the staff; we absolutely fell in love with our hostess Sonia and the front desk attendant Francesca. They could not have been more wonderful - they made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. They were so knowledgeable about the property and its history as well as the surrounding area and we spent a great deal of time talking with them both. They both clearly take a lot of pride in their property and hospitality in general. We had never been to a 'masseria' before, and while the pictures on their website are stunning they do not capture the beauty and serenity of this oasis. Our room was enormous with a sitting area and fireplace, lovely furniture, a comfy bed and wonderful linens. These 'trulli' style converted farm buildings are absolutely breathtaking. I could gaze at the beautiful stonework, vaulted ceilings and artwork in our suite and throughout the main building's lounge area and dining room for hours. And the grounds! Vineyards, fruit orchards, a gorgeous pool area, several beautiful outdoor seating areas, I could go on and on.

What I didn't like was that we were only able to stay at this exquisite property for three nights! My first impression of Martina Franca was not great until I got into the center of the old town and it is truly stunning. We only had six days for Puglia and wanted to visit half a dozen towns so we used this property as a home base for three days and Porto Cesareo (skip it - not worth it) for the other three. If I could do it again I'd stay at Trulli e Vigne for a week and skip the coast altogether. It was August, beastly hot and insanely crowded at the beach - everything that this beautiful gem was NOT!

Everything! It’s a beautiful and peaceful location, the staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The rooms were beautifully restored, the pool area was surrounded with olive groves and vineyards. The breakfast was generous and all well presented. Our stay far outweighed our expectations. The photos on booking.com does not do it justice.

Pool was a little bit cold - i would have preferred a self served breakfast however the quality of local products was amazing
