Unique lodge with interesting well thought out decor. Amazing host

If we were to be very picky some plastic wine glasses to use by the hot tub would have been great.

Lovely unique unexpected touches such as local bread, milk whisky and mulled wine waiting for us on our arrival. Very helpful, friedly hosts and quiet, well mannered ducks and chicken neighbours. The hot tub was preheated and there were logs available for the firepit. There was a sauna available although we neglected to use it this time. Lovely unique decor with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Soft comfy bed and sofa. Well worth booking for a quiet, undisturbed country break that feels like it's in the middle of nowhere (which is exactly what we wanted) but still only being a 10 minute drive to the nearest town

We had the most wonderful four-day stay, and from the moment we arrived we knew we were somewhere special. The cabin was spotless, fully equipped, and completely self-sufficient — warm, cosy, and incredibly comfortable. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for more. We were blown away by the welcome we received — stepping into the cabin to find birthday banners and balloons made the start of our stay feel instantly special. Paul and Jude went above and beyond, leaving us fresh eggs from their own chickens, bread, butter, milk, coffee beans, local cider, and even a whisky nightcap. It was such a thoughtful, generous spread that set the tone for an unforgettable few days, and we were genuinely touched by the care that went into every detail. One of our absolute favourite parts of the stay was relaxing in the hot tub under the stars. The sky was unbelievably clear, and it made for the most peaceful, unforgettable evenings. Paul and Jude were truly fantastic hosts — by far the best we’ve ever had. They gave us complete privacy throughout our stay, yet their friendly check-ins made it clear that nothing would have been too much trouble if we needed anything. Their warm and generous hospitality made the experience even more perfect. In fact, after just the first day of our four-day break, we’d already decided we had to come back. We now have two more stays booked for 2026, and we absolutely cannot wait to return. Such lovely genuine people, who just want to welcome you and share their special space they have created. Thank you, Paul and Jude, for creating such a wonderful place to unwind. We’re already counting down the days until we’re back.

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Our stay was absolutely incredible. The lodge is surrounded by nature, and every detail has been thoughtfully considered with so many lovely little touches throughout. The hot tub, sauna, and ice bath were an amazing bonus to enjoy every evening. Paul, the host, was fantastic—fun, welcoming, and nothing was ever too much trouble. We will definitely be back!

Ideal location. Tucked away in very quiet area. Really comfortable and very clean. Bed really comfy. Nice powerful shower. Host really friendly and welcoming. Only 10 minutes walk into town.

The location was perfect for our needs. The place was very clean, quirky and had everything we needed and wanted. Paul was lovely and very helpful. Surrounded by beautiful woods and country walks. The hot tub was perfect for unwinding at the end of the day

I cannot think of anything, even the weather changed for the better for our stay

We were grateful for the 2 eggs left in the welcome pack, and for the fact this place was open in late September. The host was pleasant and met us even though not well. There was a hot tub though we didn't use it. It was cosy warm and clean.

This is a small quirky chalet, some would enjoy the amount of retro stuff, we found it somewhat oppressive and taking up room we needed! We found it quite difficult to unpack and find space and then be sure we had found everything when we were packing. One side of the double bed is up against the wall and there is very little space at the foot of the bed. the small dining table has a visitors book plus other stuff, the sofa is not comfortable.
