(Please note that there are often mosquitos during the summer months in our area, though their presence or absence depends on the weather and fluctuates throughout the season or even the week. We recommend bringing bug spray.) (Please also note that there is a newly renovated 3 bed apartment ("The Hayloft") with vaulted ceilings and water views above the 19th c barn that is also available for rent, as well as a newly renovated farmhouse next door.)

What a terrific long weekend at the 1774 Inn! All the charm of a historic home with modern amenities that we've come to know and love. Setting is AMAZING and property manager and property owner were available to help with anything we needed (though we didn't need it!). Will definitely be visiting again!

Five nights. Sixteen family members. Adults with six children from 8 to 19. And everyone loved it! Lovely historical house and barn. Gorgeous views and sunsets. Eagles and hawks circling salt water grasses, seals below. Walks on Popham Beach and wooded trails. Charades, chess, movies, lots of good food.

Beautiful place, beautiful area. Really nice hosts. The only drawback was mosquitos, but with citronella candles and bug spray, they weren't a show stopper. We had ten friends all stay there together. Each couple had a bedroom with private bath. Go to Pompham Beach if you go. Can't be beat.
