About this cottage rental
Upper Bunk - weird name - cool place. You'll create touching and wonderful memories in this beautiful, cabin-style cottage located on the property of New Park Event Venue & Suites. Sun shines through the stained glass windows that were rescued from a NYC church. Stone mosaics outline the area that the Smart TV sits in, and incredible woodwork surrounds the room, including the door.
This suite has no steps and is ADA accessible. The suite has two luxurious queen sized beds, a dresser, K-cup coffee pot, mini fridge, and microwave. Upper Bunk has a front porch and direct access out the back door to a lovely garden pathway. Upper Bunk sleeps 2 to 4 people with two queen-sized beds. The luxury bathroom features a beautiful ADA accessible walk-in shower.
If you're looking for multiple suites, Lower Bunk is next to Upper Bunk - while the rooms do not adjoin, they do share a wall and back porch area.
Dogs are allowed in this suite, however, they cannot be left alone in the suite. If you prefer to leave your dog in the suite while you go out, please look into Key Cottage and Finger Lakes Cottage. Sorry, no cats.
Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.
A note on cleaning fees:
* We charge a $30 cleaning fee. This fee offsets our costs for turning over the suite in between stays. We do not enter the suites once you have checked in (unless there is an emergency or you ask us to).
* It does not fully cover the cost of cleaning the suite - our cleaners are paid above the living wage rates for our county.
* Charging this fee allows us to be flexible in stay length. Having a one-time fee incentivizes longer stays, and makes a one-night stay worth the extra effort!
* We do not have a chore list! You do not have to vacuum, do laundry, take out the trash, or strip the beds. We provide light cleaning materials in case there's a spill.
About New Park:
New Park is a one-of-a-kind 18 acre property just north of Ithaca in the Finger Lakes Region. It is 10 minutes from the city of Ithaca and 5 minutes from Taughannock Falls and Trumansburg. It was originally a roadside motel, but in the 90s, every room was transformed into a work of art. Stained glass, handcrafted stonework, and incredible woodwork laces every single room.
Features of New Park:
-There is one room called the "Wish Room" which has a wood burning fireplace in the middle of the room, as well as a piano, guitars, record player, gas grill, cable TV and wifi.
-Romantic gardens, rolling lawns, and a forest for hiking (as long as it isn't hunting season).
-There are two communal fire pits - one in the center of the property and another off to the side. The entire property is surrounded by a very tall privacy fence that once protected the privacy of a celebrity (ask the staff or the locals and they'll tell you more!). New Park also has an event space and a picnic area by a creek that is so beautiful that people get married there almost every weekend of summer.
New Park also has a total of 7 suites and can sleep up to 22 people across them, so bring some family and friends with you! Each cottage is listed separately, and we also have a listing for our "Triple Suite".
Note: This property has a venue on site and does occasionally host events. All suites have designated parking and the events must be finished before quiet hours which are 11pm-9am. The gardens, trails, firepits and lounge are all open to share with other guests on site.

Very eclectic and charming cottage. The stained-glass windows and arch-theme really made this little gnome home stand out. Beautiful grounds and convenient location. The beds were comfortable, and the outside deck was inviting.

My daughter goes to school in Ithaca so I try to visit throughout the year. While New Park Event Venue is roughly 20 minutes from her apartment, the drive is lovely and not a hassle whatsoever. The area is beautiful, peaceful. I stayed in Upper Bunk. It's right on a busy road (89), but unless you're sitting on the patio you cannot hear the traffic. And even then it's no big deal. The unit was beautifully appointed, spotless, roomy, airy. The stained glass was a really nice touch - though there is a "street light" that can be a bit bothersome at night and don't expect to sleep in cuz the room gets light fast. Just know that. They had plenty of coffee to wake up to - I loved sitting on the patio with a book and a coffee in the morning. I will be back and will look forward to checking some of the other units out. Highly recommend.

We were in Ithaca for a couple college tours and "Upper Bunk" suited our needs perfectly! Clean, quaint, nice grounds and cottages!
