The two lounges both had lovely decorated Christmas trees and very comfortable chairs and sofas. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. We liked the two large TV’s and the open plan kitchen lounge diner. The apartment was in the Center of Buxton so ideal for shops, restaurants and pubs. We walked up to Solomon’s Temple from the apartment and enjoyed the fantastic views from there.
It was very good having four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The pillows were a bit worn out.

Fabulous spacious property with all mod cons. We had a great stay here and would definitely book again.
Struggled to find the key box neighbour assisted us. Instructions to find the box could be clearer. Hot tub cooled down on our second day and we struggled to make it warmer. Also 9am is far too early to vacate.

The location was the best thing about rooftops, absolutely central to everything we wanted to see and do. It was good having two lounge areas and we would have enjoyed trying out the hot tub but TBH there were so many caveats and warning notes about stuff to do before and after each use that all the ‘fun’ element kind of drained away and it all seemed like far too much effort. The whole place was immaculately clean and there was plenty of crockery, glassware etc. so overall a few things got ticks in boxes.
So… we understand the hosts are still fairly new at this and we didn’t expect everything to be spot on, so I’m not going to list every little niggle, just provide feedback on three areas where I hope it may help the hosts understand why I rated this as a fair rather than good property. The first thing are the beds. Of our party of 8 we all commented on our first morning at rooftops how bad the beds were. The mattresses were so poor it was like sleeping on camp beds and the twin beds were totally inadequate for full sized adult use. The second point that really needs improving is the hospitality aspect. Checkout is 9am yet the detailed instructions for departure include stripping all the beds accumulating all bedding and towels, emptying all bins into the recycling area 2 floors below and leaving the place exactly as we found it - difficult with no hoover. This meant having no breakfast on the last day of the holiday as there would have been no time to clean and put away crockery afterwards. Can I suggest that either you relax the level of housekeeping expected or extend checkout to 10. Early checkout with housework added leaves holidaymakers a bit sad and tired - in the house guide it explained that the 9 am checkout was due to extensive deep cleaning required due to Covid. Surely time to revisit that? My final suggestion is just to be a bit more ‘welcoming’. My sons were really looking forward to a rooftop hot tub experience but the list of instructions and caveats just put them off completely… in the same vein, I book with booking.com usually 4 or 5 times a year for over a decade now and this is the first time there has been zero attempt at hospitality touches. Not so much as a few small cartons of long life milk or a bottle of water in the fridge. Each bathroom had precisely 1 loo roll in it. It all felt as anti-pamper as you could get. I think the price of the property was okay and the space and location were good but we left less relaxed than I’d hoped 😳
