Clean and comfortable. A great location and cosy cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Really close to Bangor and lots to do and see in area. Really quiet location and great views nearby. A real relaxing and restful cottage.
Was fine for us, but the Stairs to bedroom upstairs and kitchen which is downstairs, may be difficult for people who have limited mobility.

Lovely traditional Welsh cottage with many facilities and well equipped kitchen, including a plentiful supply of tea and coffee. Access and parking was great and the location was ideal for visiting my son at uni as well as exploring Snowdonia with family. The welcome pack of bara brith and milk was a lovely touch. Would absolutely stay again.
The stairs down to the kitchen were very steep which I'm sure would be fine for others just a little challenging for me. The check in and check out times could have been a little more flexible. That said, it would not prevent me from visiting again.

Pen Dinas is in a great location to explore the whole of North West Wales. It is easily accessible and close to the mountains, coast as well as the A55.

All facilities needed were present.
The roads leading to the property are very narrow and difficult to navigate.

Location great, loads of room and plenty of pots pans books games dvds etc. Easy to get in and decent drive size for the car. Lots of info on the house which is cool and plenty to do around the area. Some lovely nature reserves within 2 or 3 miles for dog walking. Place looks nice and lovely cottage feel. For the price you would be hard pushed to beat this. Close to Uni and Town. Our dog loved playing in the little garden.
Sofa a bit worn out, New lock needed on bathroom door and only one side of toaster works, would probably add some felt to the chairs in the kitchen too as floor is very noisy. All small points though probably easily fixed before the next people visit.

The location was good. We had everything we needed.
When we arrived at the property hadn’t been cleaned from previous occupants. We cleaned it ourselves. We were offered alternative accommodation and for a cleaner to come next day but because of the late check in, it would have been a ridiculous time to move as we had already driven 4 hours to get there. Compensation offered but we heard nothing yet.

The location and the cosy atmosphere. simple things lamps as oppose main lights. Lots of crockery, utensils pots pans. a dryer washer, iron ironing board, microwave.
Nice green space outside the front door parking for 2 cars.
Large bathroom with shower and bath, with a ground floor bedroom for elderly parents was perfect. towels supplied.
Garden plants needed a pruning to stop getting wet when walking past.
Poor tv signal in upstairs rear bedroom.

This is a really nice, budget accommodation in Northern Wales. Located close to a lot of activities, the house is small, but well equipped. The owners went above and beyond in certain respects -- for example, by leaving a PS3 in the children's room and lots of DVDs, which my daughter played with/ watched. Decorated with taste, the house has a well equipped kitchen and fully working utilities. The internet, which I noticed is frequently touch and go in that part of the country, also works really well. I appreciated the owners' thoughtfulness in leaving some electrical heaters -- the house is old and rustic, so it can get a bit cold in winter -- out, as they came in handy on cold, February nights.
I think that there are a few low- or no-cost things that could be done to improve the guest experience. Leaving soap in the bathroom and dish detergent and a sponge in the kitchen (there is no dishwasher, so dishes need to be washed manually) would be two such things. I would recommend the property for families with school-aged children, but careful with the stairs -- they are slippery and steep, so possibly an issue for toddlers and younger, as well as for folks with mobility issues.
The thing I probably disliked the most was the check-in experience. This property has the latest check-in and earliest check-out times I've ever seen (5 pm - 9 am). 5 pm in winter is effectively after dark. And trying to locate the key lock and to open it (while cleaning the cob webs around it) in the dark, while realizing that there was no phone number where I could easily reach someone for help, was an added stressor I could have done without after a long trip. In the end, we managed to open the (old and clearly in need of replacement) key lock, which came undone in my hand as I opened it. And we found a phone number where we left a voice mail and we did receive a call back (which we missed because we were in the house by that point). In any case, sending guests a photo by email in advance to show them where the key lock is located and what it looks like, as well as replacing the key lock with something slightly more modern (and potentially cleaning the spider webs around it so guests don't have to contend with the spiders at night :)) would make the check-in experience much more pleasant.

Thought of everything we could need in the kitchen and in all the other rooms too. Very central for the activities we intended to do. Very nice, clean, quaint property.
The bunk bed was a bit small for my adult son but in fairness we booked for 4 adults so it was probably thought we were 2 couples not parents with 2 adult sons!!!

Nice place, but beds were very uncomfortable and wasn't impressed that a carpet fitter turned up early in the morning to fit new carpets and we had not even got all of our belongings in the car!

Location good
It wasn’t cleaned before arrival. Spent almost 4 hours at a pub at our expense whilst property was cleaned. We were only there for 3 nights and we had to rearrange our Friday night arrangements. The letting agency said they would pay for our Friday night meal but never did. Raised a dispute via Booking.com and they never responded. Lights in kitchen didn’t work, smell of oil in living room and sink in bathroom blocked.

We visited Pen Dinas in Febuary.Heating was important for us, because of children, worked without problems. The fireplace was extra attraction, kids really enjoyed it.Kitchen was great, a lot of equipment in it,however fridge was to small .IT was clean, enough furniture for us to keep clothes and belongings. Location was perfect, very close to shops. We highly recommended, we felt like home.Definetly coming back.
