Located in the heart of the village of Fournet, in the town of Saint-Cernin-de-Larche, right next to Lac du Causse (with a walk through the forest), this beautiful, charming house awaits you!
Perched at the foot of the Fournet plateau, the view of the valley is exceptional.
Our house is part of the historical heritage of Saint Cernin de Larche.
A historic village, also known for the Virgin of Fournet: In 1891, a monumental structure several meters high was erected on the tip of the Fournet Plateau above the hamlet of the same name, which overlooks the Larche plain: a dry-stone pedestal topped by a statue depicting the Virgin and Child, with the Virgin holding her son in her right arm and a bunch of grapes in her left hand (a symbol of the earth’s bounty).

Sitting area: Next to the cantou (a more or less monumental fireplace used in southwestern France. From the Middle Ages to the 20th century, this fireplace was the centerpiece of rural homes and the heart of family life), 2 three-seater sofas—the perfect spot to enjoy reading the books provided.
Dining Area: 6-seat oak table where you can enjoy your meals

featuring an en-suite bathroom (freestanding bathtub), a desk, armchairs, a TV, and a superb view of the valley...

*Vaulted cellar level: 1 bedroom with bathroom (shower), TV

A restored, all-stone vaulted cellar, ideal for enjoying a glass of wine, relaxing, or spending time with the family in the cool. The entrance to this cellar is under a beautiful and pleasant arbor.

The host was very helpful and the house was excellent and clean. The amenities were very good although we had questions about using the free-standing bath / shower in the top bedroom.Access via the narrow roads was difficult with a large car - but we managed.

We had a fantastic time at Maison de Charme au Coeur D'un Petit Village Gaillard-proche Lac du Causse. The rooms and decor were charming. The kitchen is fully stocked for long terms stays like we had. We were there for 3.5 weeks. The hosts were attentive to our needs, questions and requests. The location is central to all the wonderful sights around the Dordogne Valley. The property is close to a cute village call Saint Cernain de Larche and there is an amazing bakery that's walkable from the house. They have incredible croissants and baguettes baked daily. The lake is within walking distance or a 5 minute drive. We went to daily markets around the valley throughout the week for fresh meats, fruits and vegetables. The house comfortably sleeps 6.

The house was very comfortable and the surrounding area was delightful. We hiked, we met wonderful people and enjoyed the Dordogne valley and surrounding villages East and West!

Well maintained for a historic building built in the year 1600.
The hosts were warm, welcoming and so very helpful.
Only draw back are narrow roads with tight turns into Fournet.
Wonderful surroundings, close to prehistorical UNESCO caves and to a beautiful garden in Terrasson called Le Parc de l'Imaginaire.
Thank you. Highly recommended.
