Dar Chama

We had a wonderful stay and truly appreciated the warm welcome and kindness of the staff. The property is located inside a traditional Tunisian house, which made the experience feel very authentic and immersive. Chama welcomed us with typical local biscuits and water, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and everything was extremely clean. The bathroom was also large, very well maintained, and spotless. The location is good, close to small local shops and within walking distance of the Medina. There is also convenient parking available on the street near the property. Chama was incredibly kind and generous throughout our stay. She even offered us a delicious and abundant homemade breakfast, although it was not originally included. During our stay, the city experienced a water outage due to a problem with the public water distribution system. Even though this issue was completely outside of her control, Chama did everything possible to support us. Fortunately, the house had a well, and she kindly heated water for us to shower and provided water for the bathroom and toilet whenever needed. She was extremely apologetic, caring, and always available to help. We truly appreciated all her efforts and her exceptional hospitality.

There is honestly nothing negative to say. Everything was perfect, and despite the inconvenience, she handled the situation in the best possible way.

A truly special and authentic place with a lot of history and charm. The house is around 200 years old, and you can feel the soul of the place in every detail. I especially loved how beautifully the traditional architecture, wooden ceilings, blue doors, and artistic elements have been preserved. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. It was wonderful to hear that she was even born in this house and has kept its original beauty alive. As someone who loves places with history and character, I felt very comfortable here. The room was officially registered, clean, cozy, and full of atmosphere. The lovely courtyard with plants made the stay even more special. A beautiful experience in Kairouan that I will remember fondly.
