I wish I could stay there longer, hoping to come back again some day.

Perfectly Austrian experience with a perfect host

Beautiful location away from the touristy areas but very accessible to all of those attractions by public transport. Hannelore is an incredible host. She was so warm, welcoming, friendly and provided us with so much extra information about the surrounding area including some local activities that were very typically Austrian - we had such an incredible stay mainly because of her approach to hosting! The building itself is so beautiful and has so much character. It feels very authentic. There’s something very cinematic about it. The breakfast spread is delicious and Hannelore makes the best scrambled eggs served to your table in the pan. The dining hall itself is perhaps the most stunning part of the building. We would absolutely come back to stay here again.

Excellent location for cycling and hiking

We recently stayed here for three nights and it was wonderful. The host is very attentive and the breakfast was excellent with a wide assortment cheeses, cakes, breads, meats, granola, and so on. I liked the location as you could ride on the narrow Alpine roads with little car traffic. Many are > 10% grade with a width about the same as a US bike path. The local infrastructure is set up for hikers with benches in the middle of nowhere, signage for hiking times and Alpine huts that serve beer and food. It's terrific for outdoor activity.

Pearl in St. Koloman, Salzburg Land

Exquisite Pearl of a house. The owner was friendly and helpful, full of wonderful tips and information and engaged in interesting conversation. Emphasis on regional products! Fantastic breakfast buffet including salmon, cheeses, local forest honey and jams, berry/yoghurt cups, pastries and other beautifully presented delicacies! Hotel is generally dog-friendly and specific rooms are appropriate for dog owners. (Benji is the owner's four-footed sweetheart) Pets should however be announced upon reservation so that the owner can book the rooms appropriately! ...We didn't know that, but were early and lucky enough to be switched to such a room upon arrival. My son and I also found the beds very comfortable. :) All in all a jewel in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, quaint Salzburg Land towns and a variety of natural and cultural excursion destinations!

A great cultural experience

Breakfast was excellent . We only stayed one night but the whole thing was an excellent experience for us . It is such a beautiful place .

The only thing would be that when we stayed there was no where in the village to eat at night . We had to go back down to the larger village for dinner .

A lovely stop during our roadtrip, but I wished we had stayed longer.

The hostess was lovely and very kind. The breakfast was amazing and served at reasonable times. It was a great one night transit stop for me and my friends during our roadtrip, but in the future I would love to stay at the Goldener Stern for a few more nights. The location is absolutely lovely and the room was very clean and comfortable. It was a great value for money and I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect!

The host lady was terribly sweet, the breakfast was perfect - from an omelett to salmon, fruits, home made breads, and a large variety of cheeses, jams, cakes, and drinks! The check-in was simple and fast, the village is quiet and beautiful, everything was clean and sweetly old fashioned. You need a car because it is far from everything, but that is what's perfect about it! We made beautiful hikes in the region. The mountains are magnificent.

I only stayed for one night and I had a great experience. I would gladly come back to stay there.

The owner was very kind, room was clean and there were good options for breakfast.

My room had a shared terrace with some men and they were smoking and burping all the time so that was a little bit uncomfortable :D

This accommodation is located in a beautiful village. The staff is really nice and will do anything for you. Breakfast was also really lovely, there were many thing to chose from! there was also beautiful view from the room.

The only negative thing for us was the church that is located on the other side of the street. Bell will most likely wake you up in the morning.

The best location for traveling to mountains

.The location is so beautiful in the mountains and next to a great old church with bells every morning. The host is the most amazing lady that will go out of her way to make your stay perfect! She even packed us food for our early morning departure because we would miss the delicious breakfast she makes. The host really makes this place extra special!

A charming stay in Sankt Koloman

The host was really kind and made our stay very comfortable. The rooms are furnished in full Austrian style and ours also had a nice terrace. Breakfast is both sweet and savoury and is offered in a great variety of choice.

Very helpful staff, fantastic location, off the beaten track but fabulous. Very clean and tidy Breakfast variety was excellent, the host Anna helped out with discount tickets, would recommend and wiĺ definitely be back.

The fantastic views and the perfectly kept cemetery- iI didnt want to leave.
