About this villa rental

This 4-bedroom Solana Beach home plus pool house with 2 lofts blends elegant shabby-chic décor, vaulted ceilings, and English imports for a warm, luxurious feel. The lush backyard features a pool, spa, and sauna, while the pool house offers a sitting area, kitchenette, and two loft sleeping spaces. Located in the heart of Solana Beach, it’s a short walk to the beach, great restaurants, and San Elijo Lagoon—perfect for up to 11 guests.

Solana Beach Sanctuary is available only when the owner is away, so it feels like a true home. Warm, welcoming, and full of character. Elegant shabby-chic décor, vaulted wood-beamed ceilings, a natural stone fireplace, and unique imports from England (including an AGA stove and breakfast bar) set a luxurious yet comfortable tone. The expansive great room blends kitchen, dining, and living areas, opening to the lush backyard for a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.

The palm-lined yard features a sparkling pool with waterfall, attached spa, and dry sauna. After a swim, lounge under the lanai or curl up with a book in the fresh ocean air.

The main house offers four bedrooms:
*Master suite: California king bed, fireplace, large en-suite bath, and private patio overlooking the pool.
*Southern wing: Two rooms sharing a bath—one with a trundle (twin-to-king) and 60" TV with games, the other with a queen bed and patio lounge.
*Artist’s retreat: Downstairs, off the main living area, with California king bed, fireplace, and en-suite bath.

The detached pool house has a cozy sitting area, and a kitchenette with microwave and mini-fridge. The sleeping areas are arranged as :
* Loft One: Queen bed with a full bathroom on the same level.
* Loft Two: Full bed in a snug, bed-only space. Ideal for teenagers.

With fast Wi-Fi, a home office, and a library with fireplace—all within walking distance to the beach—this is California living at its finest.

Solana Beach is a beautiful seaside community with wonderful restaurants, bars, and the famous Belly Up Tavern for live music. The coastline has countless beaches and spots for surfing, tidepooling, and the nearby San Elijo Lagoon offers many wonderful trails and hikes.

Cedros Design District is a short stroll with a Winery, Brewery, many Cafes and fabulous shopping.

The pool is not heated, but is plenty warm for swimming in July .

I’ll personally greet you at the house when you arrive to walk you through all the fun and important details—like how to turn on the pool waterfall, brew the perfect espresso, or get the dry sauna ready for a relaxing session. During your stay, you’re welcome to call me anytime if you have questions not covered in the house information booklet. I’m available 24/7 to make sure your visit is seamless and enjoyable.

We just left the house after a six day family reunion with people coming in from various parts of the country. We had three generations and everyone LOVED the house. We were nervous about certain things from looking at it online but everyone agreed it was a great house. We were all comfortable. Many reviews mention being uncomfortable with the AGA stove. Once we understood how to use it, we really enjoyed cooking in it and on it. The food we made was delicious. Food cooked more quickly and was more juicy - nothing ever got overdone, tough or dried-out. The kitchen is a dream kitchen, with so many special things as well as all the ordinary things a person could want. In addition to having enough bedrooms and bathrooms, it was wonderful for our group to have an office space downstairs and a library upstairs. This home has such wonderful books! We enjoyed the bathrooms that had added-on "tushy" bidets on the toilets. The location is fabulous. The owners are very generous and we were greeted with lovely flowers on the table, lots of snacks and some drinks in a little drink refrigerator. We were thrilled to be able to walk to the beach as well as to explore nature and the challenges of Annie's Canyon.Short drive to fabulousSeaside Market. Molly, who manages the property is amazing and wonderful to work with. We didn't need much from her, but whenever we contacted her with a question or problem, she immediately attended to it. This is a place we'd be happy to stay at again.

This home is really so nice. The property manager was absolutely fantastic and very responsive. She made her self available to text messages almost instantly and was extremely helpful. I was very grateful for her and the home owners flexibility. We met our extended family in Solana Beach for a family vacation. This was an awesome home for that. Room for us all to spread out and have our individual spaces as well as awesome shared spaces. We hung out in the backyard on the patio and it was so lovely. Everything was clean and well stocked. They provided laundry detergent and all the essentials. There was also a very nice welcome basket full of snacks that the kids and grown ups both enjoyed. A big thank you to the home owners and Molly!! There are a couple of things I think I want to pass on to other renters, especially those with small children. I know the other reviews talk about the AGA stove, but there are a few things that I wish I had understood before renting. The oven and stove are on continuously and you do not shut them off. This means that you walk by the oven and stove and feel the heat radiating off the oven and stove and they are pretty warm to the touch. We have a 3 year-old with Autism and I was very nervous about this, especially because there was no way to childproof it. However, we did reach out to the homeowners and they said we could turn it off, but it would take an almost an entire day to reheat to working temperatures. There was another regular gas stove and oven in the guest house so we did actually consider doing this. We were able to place the large stools they had in the kitchen around the stove and it created enough of a diversion that it never became an issue with our 3-year-old. Speaking of our 3 year old, I think families with young kids should know there is not a pool fence around the pool or hot tub and there are multiple doors and exit points to get to the backyard. We made it work, but it was work for sure and some anxiety to say the least. That being said, I am not sure I would have picked a different home if given the chance. It was almost exactly what we needed and the beach was an easy walk.. We had so much fun and had everything we needed. A beautiful home and fully stocked and clean with lots of space. Perfect? No. Awesome? Yes!!

Wonderful place with a great pool for all. It was great to have three separate living areas to split the family up. Location was within easy walking distance of the beach--local shops-- and restaurants. It worked out perfectly for our family get together.
