About this house rental

Burgundians by adoption, Myriam and Michel welcome you in the heart of the Charolles countryside, in an old priory nestled in a quiet hamlet. Overlooking a large, secure pond supplied with spring water, this old residence belonged to a descendant of the Duke of Aquitaine, owner of the stronghold of Juchaux. This estate, which at the time had a castle, residential and farm buildings, a garden and a rich orchard, was exploited by the monks of Cluny during the Middle Ages before becoming a private agricultural estate. Former furniture restorers, Myriam and Michel wanted to maintain an authentic atmosphere steeped in history. Spacious and comfortable cottage. Beautiful heritage restoration: old stone fireplaces, French ceilings, a majestic screw staircase. Large enclosed shaded and sunny garden with a gravel terrace offering a clear view of the bocage and the pond adjoining the estate (swimming/fishing). A large games room (ping-pong, trampoline) and the interior entrance courtyard are shared with the 2nd gîte. Composition: Detached house (total independence and not overlooked) located in a private domain. Oil central heating. Raised ground floor: living room-kitchen, 2 bedrooms (2 single beds 90x190cm twin / 3 single beds 90x190cm), bathroom (bath), separate WC. 1st floor: 4 bedrooms (2 single beds 90x190cm / double bed 140x190cm / 2 single beds 90x190cm / double bed 140x190cm), bathroom (bathtub/WC). Level -1: living room-kitchen, bathroom (shower), separate WC. Terrace on gravel (accessible on level -1) + enclosed garden of 300m2. Interior courtyard + private parking + secure pond (swimming and fishing) + shared games room. Shops & services 9 km. TGV station: Le Creusot 44 km. Former 17th century priory, completely restored - with a pleasant and delightful enclosed garden of approximately 300m2 overlooking a large, secure private pond. Nestled in the peaceful domain of Juchaux, a hamlet located approximately 2 km from the charming little village of Viry. Close to hiking trails (in the forest or along meadows), on the Romanesque church circuit and 9 km from cycle paths. In the heart of rolling countryside offering unobstructed and relaxing views of the bocage landscapes so typical of Charolais-Brionnais. This territory will reveal its many riches and specificities: natural (viewpoints, Canal du Centre, Arboretum de Pézanin), heritage (castles and exceptional religious buildings), gastronomic (Charolles meat, cheese) and artisanal (famous Charolles earthenware). Privileged location: 9 km from Charolles, 15 km from the Digoine castle in Palinges, 22 km from Paray-le-Monial, 33 km from the old mining town of Montceau-les-Mines, 35 km from the Digoin marina , 39 km from the abbey city of Cluny and Marcigny, 44 km from Le Creusot and 55 km from Bourbon-Lancy. Ideal rural setting for large gatherings with family or friends!
