About this cottage rental

Ellie-Jo Cottage is a charming seaside cottage situated in the popular Moray Firth village of Gardenstown.

The cottage is only yards from the seafront, tucked down a quiet alley with partial sea-views. Inside, the well-appointed sitting room has a log fire and comfortably seats four. The living room leads through to a fully fitted kitchen with breakfast area. Upstairs can be found the two comfy bedrooms - a double with sea views and a twin.

The bathroom is equipped with an electric shower over bath, and is located under the stairs. Please note that due to its placement in the house, the shower has limited headroom.

Outside to the rear and up seven steps is the seated terrace area with views over the bay and cliffs - an ideal place to relax and soak up the tranquil atmosphere around this charming cottage. It is only a short walk to the traditional harbour and the wide expanse of beach and cliffs. In the village, guests will find a charming collection of galleries, craft workshops, shops, a restaurant and a tea room.

An area of Aberdeenshire, in the north east of Scotland, encompassing spectacular country landscapes and the picturesque coastal villages of Gardenstown and Crovie. Built into the old red sandstone cliffs the villages have a quaint atmosphere. From the lovely harbour and beaches you can look out over the Moray Firth and catch a glimpse of the dolphins that often swim in the bay or experience one of the stunning sunsets. Gardenstown & Crovie are located on the Moray First Coastline in the North East of Scotland. This coastline was voted one of the best in the world by National Geographic tourism experts. The village has good facilities such as a pub by the harbour, and sights such as a nice beach, an 11th century chapel nearby and a footpath along the cliffs to Crovie. The harbour itself is well maintained with recent pontoons and around 80 boats berthed there during the summer. It is a good centre for exploring the area, and a local bus service provides links to Macduff and Banff.

There is roadside parking, plus two free car parks one minute's walk away. Please note that the property is accessed via seven steps with no hand rail and several steep stairs without a rail to rear seating area.

This property has an EPC rating of D. For bookings and more information please contact Finest Retreats.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming holiday cottage. From the moment we arrived, it felt welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared. The space was spotless and with cosy touches that made it feel really comfy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the peaceful surroundings made it easy to relax and unwind. We especially loved being so close to the sea and wandering around the little alleyways and steps around the cottage. The host was friendly, responsive and clearly case about their guests' experience. We wouldn't hesitate to return and would happily recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable getaway.

This was the 4th stay for me and my daughter and it did not disappoint. The cottage is tucked behind the house on the seafront so that it is sheltered from the wind, and the noise of the waves doesn’t disturb . In summer it’s nice to sit at the front door - it’s a sun trap. The weather this time was horrendous but that didn’t matter. We still went out for walks on the beach, bought supplies from the Wee Shoppie, went to the Pub, spoke to everybody. (Everyone speaks to everyone here) We had everything we needed - clean, warm accommodation and a log burner to complement the existing storage heaters. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer, plenty hot water for bath or shower. The wi-fi is excellent. A smart TV. The view may not be panoramic but you can see the tide ebbing and flowing from the rocking chair at the gale window. TRANQUILITY is the only word for it. This place takes you away. P.S. We are very grateful to the owner for his help during extreme weather. Being picky but more cups and teaspoons would be good.

I’d like to start off by saying wow!! Firstly, the location of the cottage is amazing, you walk out of the front door down the steps and you’re facing the seafront. The views are stunning. During our stay on two days we watched dolphins playing and swimming in the bay. The cottage is delightfully clean and extremely homely with all the facilities we needed. We found the cottage to be very comfortable. Gardenstown offers Eli’s Café, where we had some of the nicest sandwiches and cakes all homemade. The Wee Shop has a good selection of the essentials we all needed at very reasonable prices and there is a friendly village pub all within a five minute walk from the cottage. In the surrounding areas there are so many things to see, places to go and lots of enjoyable scenic walks. We found many nice places to have lunch, and to enjoy an evening meal. The cottage was great value for what we paid. Unfortunately we only booked a week, I wish we could’ve stayed for longer. We will definitely return to this amazing place and the lovely cottage.

The cottage has everything you need, it’s lovely and warm (it needed to be because the weather was a tad cold and wild !!) The cottage is clean and modern with a lovely log burning stove Paul the owner was brilliant- easy to get hold of and provided all the info we needed The cottage is a stones throw from the sea and a very short walk into Gardenstown, that has a lovely local pub (The Garden Arms) where we were made to feel extremely welcome by the owners - so much so we became regulars lol There is a lovely little cafe (Eli’s) just off the harbour - well worth a visit Great place to use as a base to explore the Aberdeenshire area (part of the north coast 500) Would highly recommend and we will be back in the future
