We liked the fact that it was a sprawling property with a pool that could have been luxurious, in others' hands. The fact that it's miles from town wouldn't have been problematic if it weren't for the fact that the offer on-property was so abysmal.
Service was atrocious. Even things as simple as check-in took an hour-plus: no rooms ready even by 6pm. The room itself had no closet or place to hang anything. The bathroom had no shelf for toiletries—or toiletries; or even towels! Bare bones. The restaurant was usually closed, and when it was open, one had to literally get up from the table to beg someone to order, bring food, bus the table, or pay. Finally, half of the sprawling pool complex was covered in algae. In short, the property was a good idea gone bad in hands that had no business running a hotel.
