We enjoyed our stay at a freshly renovated house with great host. The place is an interesting mix of traditional Japanese house (more than 100 years old) and friendly modern design. The house is along the main road but we didn’t hear any noise. The bedroom is on the garden side anyway so it was very quiet and we could sleep well.
Kaoru and Antoine used to manage the guest house in Osaka and now they are running this one in Tanba. They live nearby and were always there to help us and showed us the shrine in the forest nearby. We could also enjoy picking homegrown tomatoes and drink water directly drawn from the well behind the house.
Overall it was a very refreshing and relaxing experience!
