An excellent and friendly hotel

I would strongly recommend this hotel. The property has hotel rooms as well as apartments, in the same building. It is fully staffed. We had a 1 bedroom apartment. The host was super helpful and welcoming and the apartment was spacious and very comfortable. There was a help-yourself drinks fridge with very modest prices and you could pour yourself a dram of Obstler for 1 euro! The location is on the edge of the village with lovely views. There is a REWE supermarket and a bakery 10 minutes’ walk away. It is just over 10 minutes’ walk from the station, which has hourly trains to Munich. There is a bus stop at in the village with hourly buses to Schliersee town and to Spitzingsee ski resort, which is also good for walks in summer.

When walking from the station in the dark, a torch (flashlight) would be useful, as the road is narrow

Pleasant and calm

The hotel is situated in a very calm place, with nice views towards the mountains. We especially enjoyed the view while having breakfast on a terrace. The breakfast offers quite a wide selection (including smoked salmon!). Wifi connection in the hotel was fast and stable. We also appreciated a parking space right in front of the building. The equipment of the room and bathroom was OK, but nothing extraordinary.

Although we were told by check-in that payment by card will be possible by check-out in the morning, it was not and we had to pay in cash.

Es wurden kalte Getränke in einem Kühlschrank angeboten um sich selbst gegen Bezahlumg versorgen zu können. Ausserdem gab es in Ergänzung zum Blatt der Gästeanmeldung eine Übersicht mit guten Tipps an Restaurants und Hinweise zur Sebstversorgung. Ich fand die Unterkunft sehr charmant. Auch das Frühstück hatte alles, sogar geräucherte Forelle vom Schliersee mit Sahnemeerrettich!

Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und bequeme Betten - aber etwas altmodische Standards

Das Personal ist sehr nett und uns wurde nach Rücksprache ein eherer Check-In ermöglichst. Die Betten inkl. Kissen und Decke waren sehr bequem und angenehm. Die Zimmergröße ist gut und es war eine Wasserflasche zur Begrüßung da. Die Lage ist gut und im Sommer ist der Ausblick von der großen Frühstücksterrasse sicher herrlich. Insgesamt ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für die Gegend. Die Dusche ist schön heiß, auch nachts nach der Rückkehr von einer Feier.

Trotz zweitem Stock sind die Zimmerfenster so hoch, dass man sich ein bisschen wie im Souterrain fühlt. Uns war das nicht wichtig, da wir nur wg. einer Feier eine Nacht dort waren, aber für einen längeren Urlaub würde uns das stören. Das Badezimmer ist sehr winzig, die Lüftung sehr laut. Mehr Hacken für Handtücher wären schön. Das Frühstück ist ok, aber es gibt nur Filterkaffee und Tee, keinen Cappucchino. Der Orangensaft war von sehr minderer Qualität und die Semmel-/Brotauswahl (zumindest am Sonntag) nicht besonders. Hier könnte das Gesamterlebnis mit geringen Mehrkosten für die Wirtsleute leicht extrem verbessert werden. Am dringendsten sollten die Türschlösser modernisiert werden. Die altmodischen Buntbartschlösser der Hotelzimmer sind leider extrem laut zu hören von den Zimmernachbarn. Leises öffnen und schließen ist einfach nicht möglich, auch wenn man sich bemüht. Bis auf das wäre es sehr schön ruhig.
