Chater Cottage Rothbury

Location was perfect. Compact but just enough for a couple and their dogs.

Beautiful, clean property with all the amentities you could want. A lot of nice extras like teabags, blankets on the sofa etc. to make it feel homely. 30 second walk to the local park and river which was lovely for our dog. Luxury having a dishwasher in a holiday let too! The whole place is open plan with no doors (except bathroom) which is neither a good nor bad thing- just something to note in case it's helpful for anyone. There are a couple of small shops nearby which was helpful and a few pubs/restaurants etc. Very cosy cute little building. We loved the underfloor heating particularly! Had a lovely stay and would recommend!

A small thing but a lot of woodlice found their way in. We had no WiFi for our entire stay, although I think that was bad luck because other reviews didn't seem to have any problems so probably been sorted now and the phone signal meant we could at least hotspot our phones. It wasn't really suitable for our super anxious noise reactive dog as there are nextdoor neighbours and lots of people passing on the street. Not going to be an issue for most travellers but wanted to note it in case anyone else has a very stressy dog (lots of barking and reactivity from ours due to noises).

Lovely, well equipped cottage in the centre of Rothbury.

Sloping ceilings in bedroom may become a nuisance if staying longer than a few days!

Location very ggod. Nice and quiet. Settees quite comfy.

Our stay cincided with sunny but cold weather. Heating was not very good - appears to be underfloor for bathroom but not the lounge/dining area/bedroom for which a 2kW fan heater was provided. The other concerns were the lowness of the roof above the bed and the stair bannister which ran out at the bottom. Bearing in mind we are both on the short side we both banged our heads several times.
