About this house rental
This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath family house is located approx. 6 houses from beautiful higgins lake.

Right around corner from the silver dollar bar
You have access to a long association dock to enjoy (pictures). There is a large living room great for entertaining with sliding glass doors to the side patio, firepit, side and backyard. The kitchen is also very large and a joy to cook in. You will have all the supplies you need. A deck out front makes for a excellent place for a cup of coffee or a night time cocktail. This is a perfect area for any water activities, walking, golf, snowmobiling, biking and just relaxing. There are 6+ golf courses in the area in addition to a small par 3 course in Houghton Lake. Also, there are miles and miles of snowmobile trails to enjoy! Grayling is only a 10 minute drive away, which is home to the beautiful AuSable River and plenty of activities including great food, fishing and canoeing. There are plenty of yard games in garage and a grill to use. Additionally, plenty of room in garage to store your toys you bring with you. You will love our cabin, just as much as we do!

Stay 8-12 Sept., 2025, beautiful weather, quiet area, just a short walk from the lake which was so clear and calm as other times when we visited. The cottage had a nice fire pit with chairs surrounding it where we enjoyed the beauty of nature with red-headed woodpeckers, blue jays, squirrels, and the changing colors of the maples. The interior of the cottage opened to a large welcoming kitchen and dining area with a roomy bedroom off to the right with a twin bed and a bunk bed with a twin on top and double on the bottom. The beds were sturdy designed log beds. Next just to the right of the dining room was the master bedroom with a king size bed and the ensuite to the 1st bathroom was spacious with a tub/shower and unique decor of shells cut in half (so awesome). The third bedroom had a queen size bed that just fit. The decor throughout the cottage was of lake/nautical style and log cabin style as well, so comfortable. The living room was wonderful with a game table, log coffee table, tv, couch, and easy chairs a plenty with a patio door to the fire pit/patio area. Finally there was a laundry room with a second bathroom with a shower. All this wonderful space and pet friendly! Who can ask for more?!

Overall, a cute cabin for a family getaway! We really enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen (items and tools you could actually use!) and the space for our family to spread out (plenty of beds, 2 full bathrooms, multiple dining areas). The main attraction was access to the association pier on beautiful Higgins Lake, even if it was a bit more of a walk than initially expected. We loved wading, swimming, kayaking, and playing with our dog in the shallow, clear waters, and walking on a sandy bottom with minimal weeds. Our only complaints were 1) an unsupportive/sinking mattress, which the owners have told us they've already purchased a replacement, and 2) touchy water temps from sinks and showers. The owners were responsive and kind. We recommend the stay and would return!
