Coastal Beachy 3+/2, Pool, 5 Bikes, Near Beach, Pet Friendly, Sleeps 8+

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The house was well equipped with what we needed. Very large flatscreen tv in common room with an extra tv in every bedroom. The game area had tons of great options for our family including our favorite board and card games. The garage had chairs, nice fishing rods, and bikes… nice touches for us to use because we flew to FL and couldn't bring much. The house also had a State Park pass that we used to visit the awesome beach nearby.

Our stay was perfect! The house has an open layout with plenty of space for hanging out. Take advantage of the bikes provided! The ride to the beach is easy, but there is ample parking if you choose to drive. The house has a mini ping pong table which we set up in the garage and played for hours at night. The kitchen is exceptionally well-stocked and the grill worked great. We enjoyed floating in the pool later in the day after being at the beach. No issues with the heater during our December stay. We have stayed at a lot of rental properties, and this was by far the most intentionally stocked and arranged. Lots of little details that made our time away from home comfortable and easy! The location of the home was great-within walking distance of the beach. The next door neighbors literally sit outside all day every day so nothing is private if you step outside of the house. We had issues getting into the home on our 1st night there. We couldn’t get into the home using the key code that the property manager provided to us. We reached out to him and he remotely and unlocked the door for us . We left and returned a short time later and the key code still didn’t work - called property manager again and was advised that it was “probably” due to us arriving 1 hour earlier than scheduled - that the code was programmed to unlock at a specified hour. We left again, drove around and ate dinner. Came back to the house and again, could not get in using the key code provided to us. Attempted to call the property manager again (+10 times and left several messages) however, they were unavailable. Contacted VRBO who also attempted many times to reach the property manager to no avail. After a couple of hours, VRBO advised that they would pay to put us in a hotel for the night however, our belongings were locked in the house. The owner of the home lives out of the country which is on a different time zone. Unfortunately, VRBO had to reach out to the owner to unlock the door and reset the key code a couple of hours later. At this point, we were so tired and frustrated that we were ready to return home. The home itself had a “beach” theme inside. All furniture is IKEA style furniture. One sofa in a small living room with two rattan chairs to sit on. Mattress in the master bedroom was horribly uncomfortable and worn out. None of the others were any more comfortable - we tried. There was a stray cat (or a neighbors cat) that hung around the house and tried to come inside every time the door was opened. When the AC came on, a few of the ceiling vents smelled like cat urine - not sure if this cat was camped out inside the attic somewhere or if there may be another issue going on. Bring your own soap and small trash bags for the bathrooms as none were provided. Landscapers came while we were there - had to go inside to hear each other talk. Was nice to have a pool at the home for use and close to town for activities.
