Domaine du Figuier
If you dream of an oasis of tranquility with a southern ambiance and long evenings spent in a picturesque nature park sipping a fine wine, then leave your everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the tranquil life of our “Domaine du Figuier.” We discovered this gem on a hill overlooking the banks of the Cèze. A largely unspoiled park (8,000 m²) with mature trees, generously furnished with tables, chairs, and lounge chairs, is at your disposal. We’d love to invite you to a wine testing in our wine cellar with its beautiful vaulted ceiling and antique furnishings. A small wooden door leads to the courtyard, from where a stone staircase (not suitable for people with mobility impairments) takes you up to the covered terrace. A breathtaking view rewards the small effort. This is also where you’ll find the entrances to the two tastefully renovated vacation apartments, “La Cigale” and “Les Tournesols.”

You’ll be staying on the property of a sculptor. You’re welcome to visit the small private gallery. A barbecue is available to our guests both in the courtyard and in the park. The day after your arrival, we invite new guests to a welcome drink. During this gathering, we’ll offer you detailed tips on how to make the most of your vacation. You’ll also find a folder with extensive informational materials in both apartments. Since we live on-site, we’re always here for you. Should any health issues arise—which we hope won’t happen—we’ll accompany you to the doctor if necessary! Language barriers are no obstacle either; we speak English, German, and French
The Surroundings:
The house’s quiet yet central location offers plenty of options to suit every taste. Attractive destinations for day trips include: the historic towns of Uzès with its bishop’s seat (40 km), Nîmes with the Pont du Gard (60 km), and Avignon with its Papal Palace, which also captivates young and old alike in July with its festival. Anduze, with its pottery workshops, the Bambuserie, and the numerous stalactite caves, is a real experience. The sea is also just 90 km away. In the early and late seasons, hiking enthusiasts will find true joy. You can safely leave your car behind for a while. Beautiful hiking trails lead from the house into the charming surroundings of the Cévennes. We have numerous hiking itineraries ready for you, and we think there’s something for everyone. In the fall, roasting chestnuts from our own forest is the perfect way to cap off an eventful day.
Soccer World Cup: Our house offers ideal vacation conditions for both soccer fans and those who aren’t into soccer. Our guesthouse is TV-free, but for fans, the beach café on the Cèze (10 minutes away) is equipped with a big-screen TV and lets you take a dip in the cool water at halftime… or have a beer, or… There’s something for everyone. Have fun!

We have had a very nice holiday here! The place is very quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed the big garden where you always find some shadow and a bit of wind, when its too warm. Inge provided us with lots of information about beautiful places to go to (to swim), we were very glad with that. She is a very kind and helpfull lady.
Perhaps it could be a good idea to tell in the advertisement that there are 3 appartements next to each other. We thought we would be the only guests, we love much privacy. Luckily our neighbours were such nice people that we even became friends....

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Sehr schöne Wanderungen in herrlicher Landschaft, Baden im Fluss und viel zu entdecken... vielen Dank an Inge für die schönen zusätzlichen Tips !

Hello, we enjoyed our fortnight. The property is very clean and tidy. Nice bedrooms and a modern bathroom upstairs with a quite traditional kitchen/ diner downstairs, with a shared terrace and table outside which benefits from a really lovely view. The property is very rural (but that would describe the whole Cevennes region!) on the edge of the Gammal village. You can go for a walk in the woods next to the property. The boulangerie in Molieres is cheap and good. In my view the region is better for people who like the outdoors more than the town (swimming, canoeing, hiking, horse-riding, canyoning, and cycling so long as if you like going uphill!). I'd suggest using the GPS co-ordinates for your sat-nav it is at the end of a long lane. cheers. Adam

Beim Abschied war klar - wir wollen wieder kommen! Die Wohnung ist zum Wohlfühlen, das Haus und der Garten traumhaft schön, die Umgebung mit Gebirge, Flüssen zum Baden, überhaupt die ganze Natur hier ist kaum zu toppen. Und die Vermieter Inge und George sind ausgesprochen nett, sympathisch und unkompliziert. Es war rundum schön!
