Evergreen Hostel Metrostroevskaya

Lovely hostel, it was really clean and has all the facilities you could need… washing machine, clothes line for drying, big lockers in the rooms, and a kitchen. The host, Dana, is really kind too. I will definitely return when I come back to Almaty!

Unfortunately there was no air con in the female dorms, but it was unlucky that I was there during a heat wave.

Private bunk bed was nice. And also have enough kitchen.

A private room in a 2 bedroom attached apartment.. it had a kitchen, eating area and a shared bathroom. My room was small but very clean and comfortable and Irena was a lovely and friendly woman. A great stay.

The staff (2 receptionist ladies) was really helpful and kind. The place was quite clean and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. It was nice that they had detergents to wash your clothes. Also the kitchen is nice, they have free coffee and tea. You can also cook there comfortably.

The location is a bit far from the city center. It takes around an hour by bus to reach the center. I stayed both in private bedroom and in 4-bed women's only dormitory. And I would recommend staying in the dormitory than the priv bedroom because even though the room is private the kitchen and shower is shared with another room. Even though the room has a lock you can clearly hear every chat and movement from the other room. The private room and the shared kitchen had ants. The shared shower was cold in the winter on top of being such a tiny space with nowhere to put your things. Compared to that, the bathroom and kitchen in the dormitory is much nicer and comfortable. They have all the amenities including detergent and complementary coffee and tea. Also over there you can be sure that the other rooms have only female tenants. When I stayed in the private bedroom, the other room had male tenant and I couldn't feel so safe.
