About this villa rental
Villa Ponte is a magnificient house, in a large plot with a privileged location in one of the most emblematic beaches of Menorca, Cala Galdana. From the terrace and pool you can see the whole beach.
The house has 6 bedrooms, from which 5 bedrooms have 2 single beds each, and the master bedroom with a double room and en-suite bathroom. The other bedrooms are sharing 3 further bathrooms, all of them renovated and updated.
The living-dining room situated next to the kitchen, gives access to the magnificient covered-open terrace and swimming pool.
The Kitchen is fully equipped with hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and other small appliances.
The Villa is prepared and equipped for 11 people with a menorcan style of decoration, simple and functional for the summer .we have to mentioned that 3 rooms are on first floor accessed by a spiral staircase and another two on the ground floor from which the access have a few steps. The last bedroom is downstairs without any steps.
The double bed is 150cms, and the single ones are 80 and 90 cms.
We can access to the beach by a very close path of stairs situated near the property of bordering the street and walking approximately 900 meters. The nearest bars and restaurants are 700 meters away.
The route of Camí de Cavalls that crosses the beaches of Cala Mitjana and Cala Mitjaneta starts right in front of the house.
Due to vegetation surrounding the house, it is not allowed to use the barbecue in the property.

This villa was in a superb location and the rooms were very comfortable. We all had lots of fun splashing in the pool too.

Large villa set very high in the cliffs offering a spectacular view of the bay below. The walk down and up is especially tough even for the super fit.
The villa in its day must have been beautiful however now it has become a little rundown. The gardens to the front is overgrown and the back has some beautiful plants and trees but they again need attention. The pool is a bird paradise with its lapping sides so there is a continuous stream of bird bathing even whilst you swim! The pool was freezing in early June as the trees shade it a little too much.
There are no umbrellas with the sun beds which was disappointing i know the garden is shaded by the trees but when it shone through they would have been nice.
Rats live in the trees and the cliff so we were unfortunate when one came in the villa and was in the downstairs bedroom where the children slept. Menorca travel the hosts came out quickly and removed the rat and put down poison.
We were reassured the rats are not the same as the rats in the UK and do not carry the same diseases and live in the tree in the garden and the cliff.
In side the house there is no air conditioning but because the garden is so shaded front and back we were not hot. The house has single beds in every room apart from the master bedroom. This room is reached by a spiral staircase with a wobbly handrail so really not ideal for children. We had three children under 4 in our family and this villa is not suitable for toddlers.
