Villa Alfonso con vista mare

Die Lage und die ruhe war Fantastisch. Der Vater, Carmelo, vom Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommen.

Für das wir gerne auch selber Kochen war die Küchen Ausstattung eher mager da es nur zwei grosse Pfannen, eine ganz kleine und eine Bratpfanne hatte zum Kochen. WIFI fiel immer wieder aus und war sehr langsam was für uns nicht so toll war da ich zwischendurch Arbeiten am Computer erledigen musste. Für zwei Woche könnte man noch je zwei Handtücher zu Verfrühung stellen statt nur je eins.

Villa da Alfonso is a huge, two floors house on a quite cliff overlooking the sea. It is part of a bigger villa and it could probably be called a "duplex". The rented house takes the whole left side of the bigger complex, whereas the owner's parents live on the right side of it. In the three days we spent there we barely saw the other family. The furniture were new and modern. There was even a laundry room with a washer and ironing necessities. Of course no drier, but this is the norm in Italy and not necessary when you travel in summer like we did. The main feature is the "closed" terrace, i.e. it has windows all around and most can be opened. The terrace is nicely decorated in yellow colors, a nice break from the pink-violet hues of the rest of the house. We particularly enjoyed the evenings relaxing on the terrace after a tiring day visiting temples or playing at the beach. The Villa is at about 20 minutes from the Scala dei Turchi and the temples so, overall, it was a pleasant place to spend a relaxing evening after a full hot day visiting tourist attractions and playing on the beach till the sunset.

The house is not at walking distance from the sea side as it could be mistakenly understood by the owners' internet description. We actually had to take the car and drive for about 10 minutes before reaching a sandy beach. Beside from a clearly left over shampoo and some shower caps, there weren't any detergents not cooking essentials. We had to buy all the basic necessities like hand soap, hair conditioner, salt, sugar, oil, coffee and washer detergent. One more thing to keep in mind is that there isn't cell phone connection in the house, not of course internet.
