About this apartment rental

This beautifully remodeled condo has a deck situated right over the beach and overlooks the tidepools. With views from the Cayucos pier all the way to Morro Bay and Morro Rock, this is the perfect, relaxing spot to enjoy the sunset and watch the surfers catch some waves. Everything in the unit is brand new - from the floors and appliances to the furnishings and linens. This unit also offers an electric fireplace, flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, and its own stackable washer and dryer, which can be rare in these condos. This unit is on the ground floor and requires no stairs! Larger, additional deck can be used and is shared with the neighboring unit. Additional larger laundry facilities are available in the coin-operated laundry room onsite. SMALL PET (30 lbs or less) ONLY. Parking for one vehicle only onsite; additional parking is on the street only.

We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the property. The couch was so stained and smelly and dirty that we were grossed out to sit on it. There were cobwebs and spiders and dust on all surfaces. The cleaning fee is pretty hefty for an unclean property. We left a day early because we were so uncomfortable. The ocean view was great but the smell coming off the ocean was overpowering and forced us to close the door to keep the smell out. The linens were stained and there was dust on the cups that we were supposed to drink out of.

I have stayed in Cayucos for the last 30 plus years and have generally stayed in the A side of the buildings. The bed was extremely uncomfortable considering it's a rental I would think that it would have a much higher end mattress. There were no board games or cards and that is always been there in my past stays. The management company was very friendly and tried to be accommodating when we complained about the bad but only provided a mattress cover and an additional quilt.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The condo is nicely updated and you cannot beat the view or location. One thing that was not made clear is that the outside terrace is shared with two other units. This did not impact our stay as those two units appeared empty during our stay, but not an ideal situation to share a patio with two small tables with three condo units.

The location was great with an ocean view.The accuracy of the listing was fine except that the outdoor patio was shared. This was not bad in that we were the only ones using it but had expected more of a private patio.There are some very odd rules. When you leave, you are expected to strip the beds, replace any TOILET PAPER and paper towels that you use. Oh and replace any propane [sic!] that you use. We are on vacation and are not going to go shopping to lug a propane tank and find a place to fill it, or go shopping for paper goods. You have to pay an extensive fee for cleaning fee yet are expected to clean everything before you leave. Also are required to either buy an insurance policy or leave a huge security deposit. Finally, they left extensive instructions on how to do all of the above but not how to work the heater or TV system. I called the emergency number to ask and never had my call returned. We did figure out the heater but turns out the only heater is a weak fake fireplace heater in the main room and no heater in the bedroom. It does get cold in the evenings by the ocean and would be nice to have a heater in the morning in the bedroom. Oh, and there was only one soap dispenser in the bathroom so you had to keep moving it from the sink to the shower. Not a big deal but you would think for the price there could be two soap dispensers? Or even something beyond one-ply toilet paper? The location was great, but all of the above made it seem like they were doing it on the cheap and looking to cut corners any way they could.
